In my case, it's a perk of my Chase Sapphire card (the Preferred, not the Reserve). I purchased an open-box Sony A95K a couple years back, which failed after 6 months and was warrantied Sony. Sony supplied a brand new A95L, as the A95K was no longer in production. Heck of a score, right? A new 65" A95L for $1,400 all-in.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, I was dusting said TV and noticed a single stuck pixel near the top of the screen. Absolutely nothing that can be seen during regular viewing @ 13' away, but knowing it was there immediately bugged me. The manufacturer's warranty has expired by this point, so I figured what the heck I'll try and submit an extended warranty claim and see what happens.

Surprisingly, Chase (through Virginia Surety/Assurion) made submitting the claim easy: upload original receipt, a repair estimate, and the CC billing statement showing the purchase. I submitted everything on 6/29 and received an e-mail first thing this morning letting me know my claim was approved and to expect a follow-up email with direct deposit instructions.

So, remember folks: use those benefits!
