DIY with hazmat can be something that nobody would insure the product if there is any class action. I am not going to be surprised if this is the reason many of the batteries are now sealed and cannot add water.

As to why batteries from Panasonic last longer. It could be because they use different grade of lead whereas the aftermarket just use the cheapest recycled lead without refining them first. If customers are not willing to pay 3x the cost for 3x the lifespan they wouldn't sell it. A new car probably wants to avoid false warranty claim by having better quality. The money is saved elsewhere.

Panasonic sold their battery division years ago. And the buyer does not use the name Panasonic re the batteries they make.

"We" do? Been watching this channel for years, and he does some of the best product testing I've seen. His motor oil testing isn't good, but overall does an excellent job.

Personally, I enjoy PF... Better than Consumer Reports IMO...

I have had nothing but success over the years with WM batteries. Have a seven year old $59.00 one still going strong in my daughters car.

My only hope is they rot in a prison then burn in hell. As it was when I was working, I exercised my at will rights and not only fired the these kind of people, but made sure it was spread throughout the workforce just what type of person they were.

I make sure life on earth is miserable for these kind of humans I encounter. Fortunately in my circle of associates and friends this kind of behavior barely exists.

PF is no different than any other source, in that you have to view it with both eyes wide open, and pay attention to what he is doing. Many of his tool reviews are interesting, but often find one or two of his tests of little or no value, and find myself changing the order of the results, after throwing out the useless tests. Admittedly, it seems he has learned from comments, and does fewer of the nonsense tests.

After the first few that I watched, I don't waste any time watching any of his motor oil testing. It is absolutely meaningless to real world use. BITOG is in an entirely different league, as far as knowledge and information on motor oils, compared to PF, and in those PF oil videos his results were not supportive of what we know here.

My 47 month old WM MAXX 24f somewhat has me puzzled. Last year I replaced a 60 month old 51R that I removed from my 2016 CRV when I upgraded to the 24f in September of 2022, and put in my sisters 2019 CRV, ( mine was put in by a Honda dealer in December 2019 and was about a year younger than the the 51R in her 2019 and it tested better than hers. I tested hers in November of 2025 ( it was 29 monts old at the time ) when it had sat overnight with ambient about 30 F and it tested 509 CCA. I thought it was somewhat low in CCA but did not suggest replacing it. Then December 3rd 2025 her vehicle was totally dead when she tried to start it. Her husband tried to jump-start it with a NOCO 1000 A 1 yo charged up jump pack and it could not start it. Aparently one or more cells had failed as a shot. So, this shows that near end of expected life ( it was a 60 month rated battery and it was exactly 60 months old, they can suddenly fail. And even a monster jump pack can't start a vehicle with a battery with a shorted cell. It may even be the jump pack was smart enough to not overdo it and cause that bad battery to explode in my brother-in-law's face. Batteries can explode. I even saw it happen once. I was about 75 feet away and watching a neighbor from inside my house when it happened. And he had the polarity right, but I think he made the last connnection at the battery.

There’s a place for PF which isn’t this site and the “nobody’s smarter than all of us” mentality that this place has. I’ve never not watched a video and not learned a tid bit. I mean, are you going to buy or get a donation for 13 different torque wrenches to figure out which is best? He’s much like the guy who teaches kids how to tie a tie or how to check your oil for the younger crowd who has no father figure to show them. While this place rips and degrades things like that, PF is raking in 6-7 figures and could care less what bitog thinks or has to say. Yet, he clearly likes what he’s doing and it’s well though out.
