Is anyone else having problems with the Cloudflare "verifying you are human" not working in Chrome when using a VPN service? I started having this problem about 3 weeks ago and I cant't get into BITOG unless I disconnect from the VPN.

Spammers and problem users hide behind VPNs. Bots hammer this site every second. Cloudflare is what allows BITOG to continue. So, deal with it, or turn off your VPN.

Something changed with Cloudflare about 3 weeks ago. For all of the years that I have been a BITOG member I have used a VPN and have not had a problem. I am NOT a problem user and I resent the insinuation that I am!
I am not having this problem with other websites secured by Cloudflare. Some knowledgeable people on the Internet say that this problem can be easily fixed by the website administrator (without compromising overall website security) by changing a setting in Cloudflare.
BTW, Internet users hate Cloudflare...
"Cloudflare has been considered a "big problem" recently due to several issues including potential data leaks caused by bugs in their system, frequent outages impacting website performance, concerns about their aggressive bot mitigation measures leading to unnecessary blocks for legitimate users, and the sheer dominance they hold in the web traffic market, making them a single point of failure for many websites. Astro is correct. No one outside of staff knows what it takes to keep this site running as fast and efficient as it does, certainly not "the internet"

That's kinda like saying, "you can figure out how to harness the power of nuclear fusion by staring at the sun"

Which setting would you change?

All platforms have bugs and we store almost no user data.

Bots are a giant problem on the internet and in order to keep any website from being overwhelmed, you have to use aggressive bot control. There will be some false positives, but there is a lot of intelligence that goes into determining whether a request came from a bot or a human. Cloudflare does a very good job at this. We have Cloudflare set up so all you have to do is check a box, no CAPTCHA because it's awkward at best.

Cloudflare may have a node go down, but that's not a problem because of the nature of anycast. There is no 100% reliable system, however our traffic that goes through Cloudflare has never been down because of Cloudflare in over a decade. That's pretty darn reliable.

Didn’t say you were a problem.

I was explaining why we use cloudflare.
