How are the Wix made Pro-Tec lower tier filters? I know Wix makes good filters and these can be had for $1.50 or so on Rock Auto. Their site says good for 3k miles. I used to use Puro Classics, but won't now with the tearing issues.
We've been using them in our trucks and the wive's Traverse's along with the zero turn mowers. I think we switched to them about 4 years ago and havent had any problems. We get them from O'reilly's for about $20 per 12 pack
They as well as parts master filters are made by WIX. I'll be chopping a Parts Master #57060 off my real fathers new to him 2013 HEMI Ram truck regular cab 4x4.
When I worked at Oreilly's, we sold cases of Pro-Tecs to the local shops. I always assumed they were a lower tiered filter than the Microgard and more comparable than the ProSelect.
Either way, I'd use them with confidence. This would be an interesting question for WIX/ Mann+Hummel though.
