What gets me is all you guys with apparant zero stashes. Put your feet down and tell your women those old boxes of shoes must go, there'll be Valvoline on your side of the closet, thanks.
I don't go to stores, or parts of town those stores are in, TO BUY OIL. It just happens when I'm on other errands.
Saves gas and wear on the vehicle.

I don't just stash oil. Shaw's supermarkets has almost starved me out of ice cream and frozen veggies. Just in time, they had a sale, and I filled the basement freezer back up. They blinked first.

I doubt PepBoys will ever have the 'Buy 3, Get 3 free Mobil 1' coupons again. I did buy ten cases of Mobil 1 using the B3G3F coupons when they had that promotion going on.
The employees thought I was crazy when I bought a case of Mobil 1, went out to my car, came back inside and bought another case. I had the BIGGEST grin on my face...cause the store manager didn't realise that a 6 pack of Mobil 1 came out to $11.97 and I was at the register every 5 minutes buying a case of M1.
I waited until the price came down to $3.99 per quart, then I purchased all the 0w20 and 5w30 I could find.

I've read on another post that people should buy oil on a need basis. Do you guys think the prices will eventually come down in general? That is without coupons, rebates, etc.

Complain to your goverment. Their the ones taxing you.
Oil costs the same for your part of the world. And your closer to the source!
Plus, you have a much better bus/rail network than most of all of the USA.
Got to pay for that somehow...
