I was in Pep Boys looking for some Royal Purple which they didn't have, and couldn't believe what the synthetic oils were priced at. $6.29 per quart for M1 and Syntec.

I stopped at Wally Worlds local warehouse club this morning and picked up a 6 qt case of Syntec 5W30 for $4.21 per quart. BTW the M1 was the same price.

Yeah, I don't know how in Jahova's name these auto parts stores sell oil when there is a Walmart within a mile or two of them...??? I'm sprised that every bottle is covered in a foot of dust, given the price they try to sell it for compared to W-mart

Since I can't edit my posts anymore, I have to post twice...
What a stupid think to not have this feature anymore...
I meant to say I'm suprised that every bottle ISN'T covered in a foot of dust, given the price they try to sell it for compared to W-mart.

You're merely experiencing normal sticker shock. Most of us have had it so good with deals and whatnot (frequenting Wally World too often) and missed most of the substantial price creep.

Heck, with my current stash inventory, I'll probably have "the big one" when I have to actually pay current retail on something.

Meant to say....must edit again...no edit feature...
Hmmm...should I correct my typos again? LOL

There is a problem with the edit feature in the forum software (obviously). It worked for about a day and then went missing for some unknown reason. Admins are aware of the issue and I'm sure are working on correcting it. Meanwhile, a work-around has been posted in the "General" forum.

Here it is:

2) Go to the link at the top of the page and change "newreply.php" to "editpost.php" and then press Enter (Return) on your keyboard.

Wally World is 30 miles away and Costco is about 75. Napa is 5.5 miles, and Autozone is 7 miles.

Not much choice out here. I usually end up paying about $3.70 per quart for Mobil Clean 7500. I just picked up 4 qt of Penzoil Platinum for $4 ea, but I think that's close to normal price.

stop moaning , if you guys had to pay what we do in the uk you'all would have a stroke!!!
1ltr castrol edge 0W-30 @ gas station...........£16-99

, now turn that into dollars & send 'us' some money!!!

Heck I could have a shady business exporting it as gifts....

mmmm editing

I can remember when Pennzoil was the pay day lube at $1.30/quart and Mobil was the cheap stuff at a little over a buck/quart. The sad is that I'm not all that old! Wally world definitely has the market with motor oil, Advanced Auto isn't too bad but you have to be careful. I have found that they sell there oil in 4 quart jugs instead of 5 and market it at Wal-Marts price for a 5 quart jug. Sneaky.

Adam.
