Pretty ships in world of warships

So, yet another new ship. I received a gift of 5 Santa crates from another player/friend and lo and behold yet another ship. I really need to go buy a lottery ticket! That makes 14 Premium ships I have won in the crates. Unbelievable.

This is one I would not have bought for myself but as with all the other posts about this subject Premium ships are something special. I do play Battleships so I will at least keep it for a while. Can always sell it and use the Capt and port slot.

1pt = Incoming Fire Alert (let's you know when a ship targeting you shoots)

1st game in the Okt Rev. Was Epicenter and my team was afraid to go into the center (well until the end when all the enemy ships were gone
33.gif
) so I went alone. Spent the entire game inside the center until the end when chased the CV. Armor is pretty good and guns are accurate. Slow and lumbering ship and turrets though. Long reload and low damage on hits. Decent ship but nothing amazing.

So, in the WOWS game there are Premium ships as I have posted about above. As long as WG has them available at the time you can buy them in the Premium shop with real money, get them with doubloons through your game's port tech tree, or even win them in containers or through missions. I have done all of the above. A very select few of them however are special in that the only way to get them is by using Free XP through the game's port tech tree. It generally costs a LOT of Free XP to get them but it is worth it as they are generally really good ships and they make crazy amounts of credits and XP.

The ultimate Premium ship in the game is the USN T9 Premium Bb Missouri. It is the top resource earner in the game and it is a Free XP only ship. Can't buy it and can't win it. You have to earn it and it costs 750,000 Free XP. That is the equivalent of the regular XP needed to research the USN T10 BB Montana or IJN T10 BB Yamato 3 TIMES! Free XP is the thing you earn the least of as well.

Since it's introduction WG has stated Missouri will never go away but lo and behold they have reversed course. I have always wanted the Mighty MO but that is a LOT of Free XP and as I have posted about many times I use mine to upgrade new ships so I don't have to play them stock. I assumed (shame on me) I had time to get it later. Nope. Missouri will go away 2 game updates from now (about 2 months). It is being replaced with a brand new T9 IJN BB (Musashi - Yamato's sister ship). That will be the new ultimate Premium and Free XP ship.

So, I have put everything else on hold to try and grind to the Missouri before it is too late. All these Premium ships and rewards boosting flags and camo I have got recently will be a huge help. I can take the regular XP I earn in those, as well as the regular XP I earn in my elite ships (regular tech tree ships you keep after getting to the next higher one), and use Doubloons and covert it to Free XP. I am playing like mad to get there before it is too late.
lol.gif

Unfortunately, I was basically out of Free XP when WG announced this as I had upgraded a lot of new ships and reduced my 200K+ Free XP pool to under 1000.
33.gif
So I am starting from as low as can be. However, I have put one heck of a dent into it with all these Premium ships, won Free XP, and all the signal flags reward boosts. I am now up to 450K+ Free XP. So over 1/2 way. Man I hope I can make it.

Games like this one I just had in my Yamato will help...

These games really irritate me. You work your butt off in the game along with the rest of the team to get a win and in the end you lose because a player was only there to get rid of their team killer status and they bail on you after the game starts. Happens all the time in Co-op and it drives me nuts. Especially when they do it in a ship like a BB that really leaves you at a disadvantage when they do it.

Our other Tirpitz (I was in mine) ran his ship to the edge of the map as soon as the game started and then exited the game so that he could take a game off his TK penalty. I killed 5 and damaged 2 more but I was unable to take out the last enemy BB as I was too beat up and low HP. So we lost on points after I was sunk. What really irritates me is the guy actually got some rewards out of it because his automatic secondary guns set a ship on fire so he got credit for damage even though he didn't fight. Just not right.

I am stunned to be posting this just one day later but I have reached the Missouri (see 3 posts above). The combo of a marathon gaming session and some gift containers that awarded me a good batch of Free XP resulted in me reaching the 750,000 XP this morning. So I have done it and I have got Missouri before it goes away which is really cool. It is basically the same thing as the standard tech tree USN T9 BB Iowa (they were same class ships when built in real life). The big differences are A) - Missouri has radar and B) - Missouri earns way more resources. It is so close to Iowa though that I will not have any learning curve to go through playing it. Same basic ship. However, with Missouri being a Premium I can use my 17pt Montana Capt on it at no cost which will be a big help.

So without further ado introducing the Mighty Mo....

In those gift crates mentioned above that helped me finish up my race to Missouri there were 3 ships if you can believe it. I can't. That brings the total of Premium ships I have won in these Santa crates to a whopping 17!!!! Just amazing.

2 of the ships were Destroyers(DD) though which for me stinks as I don't play DD's. They were the Russian T7 Premium DD Leningrad and the USN T8 Premium DD Kidd. Both are very good DD's but I just don't play them. So as with the other DD's I won the Capt's were sent to the reserves for future use and the ships will be sold when the Christmas sale is over so I get full value for them.

The other ship I got however is a definite keeper. It is the Commonwealth/Australian T6 Premium Light Cruiser(CL) HMAS Perth. The Perth was a slightly upgraded Leander class CL in real life but pretty much the same thing. The standard tech tree British Royal Navy(BRN) T6 CL Leander is one of my favorite ships in the game. The Perth however gets the added bonus of being a Premium ship AND it actually gets HE round which regular BRN CL's do not (only AP). However, Perth does not get that fabulous BRN CL Repair Party to heal back damage. So any damage it takes is permanent. I am looking forward to this one. I had forgot that it was one of the ships being given in the crates. It is also a ship that WG ahs pulled and it may not be available anymore? So it is good I have it.

Stats and port shots below...

Ship: HMAS PERTH
Nation: Australian Royal Navy (ARN)
Tier: 6 Premium
Ship Type: Light Cruiser(CL)
Survivability(HP): 27,100 HP
Armor: 10-100MM / 0% Torpedo Damage Reduction

Rudder Shift: 6.1 seconds
Turning Radius: 640m
Detection By Sea: 9.8km
Detection By Air: 6.9km
Detection When Firing In Smoke: 4.5km

Main Armament: 4X2 152MM (2 turrets front/2 rear)
Main Gun Range: 12.8km
Rate Of Fire(ROF)/Reload(RL): 8.0 shots per min ROF / 8.5 seconds RL
180 Degree Turret Rotation: 25.7 seconds
Shell Dispersion @ Max Range: 113m

Shell Type:
Armor Piercing(AP) = 3100 damage
High Explosive(HE) = 2100 (11% chance of fire)

Secondary Guns:
102MM = 4X2 (dual purpose)

Secondary Gun Range:
102MM = 5.3km (dual purpose)

Secondary Gun Rate Of Fire(ROF)/Reload(RL):
102MM = 20.0 shots per min ROF / 3.0 seconds RL (dual purpose)

Secondary Gun Shell Type:
102MM = High Explosive(HE) (dual purpose)

Anti Aircraft Defense(AA):
12.7MM = 5X4

Torpedo Reload(RL): 96 seconds RL
Torpedo Range: 8km
Torpedo Speed: 61 knots
Torpedo Max Damage (p/ torp): 15,433
Torpedo Detection Range: 1.3km

Mounted Modules:
Slot 1 = Main Armaments Modification 1 (helps protect against main/secondary/AA guns and torpedo tubes being damaged)
Slot 2 = Damage Control Systems Modification 1 (reduces risk of fire and flooding)
Slot 3 = Aiming Systems Modification 1 (improves main gun accuracy and secondary gun accuracy and range)
Slot 4 = Steering Gears Modification 2 (reduces rudder shift)

Camo:

-3% Detectability Range By Sea
+4% Dispersion to Enemy Guns
-10% Post Battle Service Fee
+50% XP Earned

Mounted Consumables: (*)
Damage Control Party (stops fires and flooding + repairs damage to main/secondary/AA guns and torpedo tubes)
Hydroacoustic Search (like sonar - increases detection range of enemy ships and incoming torpedoes) (**)
Spotter Plane (ship launched Spotter Plane - increases main gun range while active) (**)
Smoke Generator (creates a smoke screen the ship can hide in)

* - consumables are manually activated special features. They have a limited active time then require a recharge period (sometimes lengthy) before you can use them again. All consumables have a premium version (II) available that cost resources and have to be purchased for each battle. The standard versions (I) are free and come mounted by default.

** - HMAS Perth has the option to mount a Spotter Plane - OR - a Catapult Fighter Plane in the same slot. I have chosen the Spotter Plane. Catapult Fighters are not very good and the increased visibility and firing range of the Spotetr Plane while it is active is of more use.

Captain:
I am using the 10pt Captain that came with the ship on it and I have assigned the points as follows...

1pt = Priority Target (let's you know when you are targeted and by how many)
1pt = Incoming Fire Alert (let's you know when a ship targeting you shoots)
1pt = Preventative Maintenance (-30% chance of main guns, secondary guns, and AA guns being damaged or destroyed)
2pt = Smoke Screen Expert (+20% to the smoke screen radius)
2pt = Adrenaline Rush (as the ships HP goes down the guns reload faster)
3pt = Demolition Expert (increases chance of fire being cause by an HE shell hit by 2%)

Funny you mention that as I actually got it in another Santa box a couple days ago. Yup another new ship. I haven't played it as I just am not a big DD guy in the game but I do know it is well thought of and well reviewed. It plays more of a gun boat role as a DD than a torpedo boat role similar to the Russian DD's although it does have decent torps (just not a lot of them).

I might actually keep this one as it is a very famous ship, that is still around and preserved in Poland as a museum, and I have a friend who is an older gentleman with a large Polish background who flipped when I mentioned I had it. Not sure I can sell it now. Might keep it and occasionally play it for him (he loves to watch replays I do for him). Will post screenshots and info below as well as some history I put together for the man.

Quote:
The Polish Destroyer ORP Blyskawica was the most modern Destroyer in the World at the start of World War II. Blyskawica is the second of two Grom-class Destroyers,
built for the Polish Navy by J. Samuel White in 1935–37. At the time of their construction, the Grom class Destroyers were amongst the fastest and most heavily armed
Destroyers ever built.

When Błyskawica arrived in the United Kingdom in 1939 it was found that the ship, designed for operations in the sheltered Baltic, was too top heavy for operations in
the rougher North Atlantic so the ship was modified to reduce top weight. A searchlight tower on top of the ship's bridge was removed as was a deck house aft carrying
a second searchlight and the distinctive funnel cap. In addition, the aft set of torpedo tubes were removed to allow fitting of a 76 mm AA gun. In 1941 Błyskawica was
rearmed. It’s 120MM guns were replaced by 102MM dual-purpose guns, it’s 13.2MM machine guns were replaced by four 20MM canons, and it’s 2nd set of torpedo tubes
were reinstalled.

Two days before the start of war with Germany in August 1939 Błyskawica withdrew, along with the Destroyers Grom and Burza, from the Baltic Sea to Scotland. From
September 1939 on Blyscawica acted in tandem with the British Royal Navy Home Fleet. Later that month Blyskawica made contact with and attacked a German U-Boat.
This was the first documented combat between the Allied Navies and the German submarine fleet in WWII.

In May 1940 Błyskawica took part in the Norwegian Campaign; shelling German positions and downing two Luftwaffe aircraft. Later that month Blyscawica took part in covering Operation Dynamo; the successful British led evacuation from Dunkirk. As the war continued Błyskawica took part in convoy and patrol duties where the ship engaged both U-boats and the Luftwaffe in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. The ship was also assigned to escort troop transports including the RMS Queen Mary as it was one of the few ships that could keep up with the liner.

On the night of May 4th in 1942 Błyskawica was instrumental in defending the Isle of Wight town of Cowes from an air raid by 160 German bombers. Blyscawica was in
port for an emergency refit at the J. Samuel White yard where she had been built. On the night of the raid the crew fired repeated rounds at the bombers from outside
the harbor; her guns becoming so hot they had to be doused with water from the River Medina. So many rounds were fired that extra ammunition had to be ferried over
from Portsmouth. This ferocious defense forced the bombers to stay high and made it difficult for them to target properly. The ship also laid down a smokescreen which
hid Cowes from sight. While the town and the shipyard were badly damaged, it is generally considered that without this defensive action it would have been far worse.

In March 1943 Błyskawica was assigned to Cruiser Force Q based at Bone, North Africa. in June 1944 Błyskawica took part in the Battle of Ushant (Brittany) against a
German Destroyer squadron. In late 1945 and early 1946 Błyskawica, along with the destroyer HMS Onslow, took part in Operation Deadlight (the scuttling of over 100
German U-boats).

During WWII Blyscawica logged 146,000 nautical miles, escorted eighty-three convoys, damaged three U-boats and helped sink other ships, and shot down at least four
German planes. Blyskawica is the only ship of the Polish Navy awarded the Virtuti Militari medal (4th Class). Blyscawica is preserved to this day as a museum ship in Gdynia, Poland. Bylscawica is the oldest preserved and surviving WWII era Destroyer in the world.

The War Order of Virtuti Militari is Poland's highest military decoration for heroism and courage in the face of the enemy at war. It was created in 1792 by Polish King
Stanisław II August and is one of the oldest military decorations in the world still in use.

I am retiring from this year's Santa crates. No more buying them.
31.gif
I have spent WAAYYY to much but I have got everything I could possibly want from them and the value of what I have got back (with the exception of a few 20 box crates that frankly stunk) has been amazing. I have easily got somewhere in the 5X's+ in value back vs what I have paid. Wouldn't surprise me if it isn't even higher like 10X's value. I mean I just killed it this year. Stopping before I go broke for real.
lol.gif

Santa boxes were offered in $1/$3/$5 this year. You could buy them individually or in packs of 5 or 20. The multi packs were discounted quite a bit. I actually found the $3/20 box crates to provide the most bang for the buck ship wise while the $1/20 box crates were best overall value. The $5/20 box crates were good but expensive for what you got at least compared to the others. I hit it big on ships this year with TWENTY SEVEN (27). 10 of those came from 2 $3/20 box crates that each dropped 5. I mean holy [censored]! Also hauled in over 67K in Doubloons, a year and a half of Premium time, and more Free XP than I can shake a stick at. There are also all those awesome special flags (dragon, hydra, wyvern, etc...) you can't buy that add a lot of extra to your post battle rewards too. I am all set for the standard flags as well, for like forever, and I have enough camo to last to the end of time
lol.gif
. So I spent a lot but got a BOAT LOAD (no pun intended - well actually yes there was).

I decided this AM I would do one last run at it trying for the BRN T7 Premium CL Belfast (was pulled from availability a while back for being too good/strong - can only get now in a special ship crate) and maybe some more doubloons and Premium time. Really didn't care if I got any other ships. I wanted Belfast. So I bought 1 each of the 20 box crates of $1, $3, and $5. It's a lot of money but I don't do a lot for fun other than the game being disabled so I figure it is just helping me the rest of the year plus it is freaking fun opening them.

The $1 boxes were up 1st and I got 10K Free XP in the 1st crate and then 300 Doubloons in the 2nd. I was thinking boy this is off to a good start when the 3rd came up with a ship box. Low and behold it opened and there it was the FREAKING BELFAST!!! YES!!! So I immediately started my happy dance (

) but soon remembered I had a lot more crates to go. As I opened them I just kept thinking wow...wow...wow...wow!

I ended as strong as I started with this year's crates. The $1/20-pak got me 50K Free XP, 600 doubloons, and Belfast. The $3/20-pak crate came up next and it was a grand slam dropping 5000 Doubloons and FIVE SHIPS including 2 in the 1st 2 boxes. The $5/20-pak dropped 6000 doubloons and then two more freaking ships! My final ship of the day and year came on the LAST box of the $5/20-pak crate and was the 2nd big prize of the day = Imperator Nikolai I (another ship like Belfast and Kutuzov that are too good for their tier so they were pulled). Woot...Woot!

So I have zero complaints on this year's Santa crates other than how much I spent and that is on me. I actually ran out of in game credits trying to equip all the new ships to play them so I had to sell some of my camo I won out of inventory to get solvent in the game again
lol.gif
. I wasn't planning on keeping any of the DD's I got as I don't play DD but it was pointed out to me that by keeping them it stops me from getting them again in the future and if I do I get the matching value in Doubloons. So just going to keep for now I guess. Only ship I will sell is the regular version of the Graf Spee as I have the HSF version too which is same thing (different premium camo is only difference) and don't need 2.

My ship haul (in port order not received order - all Premium ships - ships in bold were today)...

T6 IJN BB Mutsu
T8 IJN CA Atago
T6 USN BB Arizona
T7 USN DD Sims
T7 USN CL Atlanta
T7 USN CA Indianapolis
T8 USN DD Kidd
T8 USN BB Alabama
T9 USN BB Missouri (750K Free XP cost - used the Free XP/Doubloons I got in boxes to reach 750K in 1/2 the time)
T4 RUS BB Imperator Nikolai I (ship no longer available except in special crates - too good so pulled)
T5 RUS DD Okhotnik
T5 RUS BB Okt Rev
T6 RUS CL Molotov (actually the German T6 Nurnberg that was seized by Russians in WW2)
T7 RUS DD Leningrad
T8 RUS CL Kutuzov (ship no longer available except in special crates - too good so pulled)
T6 KM CA Admiral Graf Spee (selling - I already had HSF version)
T7 KM BB Scharnhorst
T6 BRN DD Gallant
T6 BRN BB Warspite
T7 BRN CL Belfast (ship no longer available except in special crates - too good so pulled)
T7 PLN DD Blyskawica
T6 PA DD Anshan
T6 PA CL Huanghe
T6 FRN CL De Grasse
T6 FRN BB Dunkerque
T5 ITA BB Giulio Cesare

Correction to the above. It is the Russian Cruiser Admiral Makarov that was the renamed Nurnberg (IRL too). The Molotov is not the ship. Sorry about that. I have the Molotov.

Got a short fleet update.

Haven't posted in a while but have been busy playing all those new Premium ships I won. Got a couple more since I last posted bringing the total to 33 of them.
33.gif
Well 32 ships won in the Santa boxes and then enough Free XP and Doubloons to help me get to 750K Free XP for Missouri.

So 2 things to post...

1 - Missouri is famous for giving the most credits of any Premium ship (any ship really) in the game. I got a taste of that today. Even in Co-op it pays really well. I regularly see 350-400K in credits out of it but had a game today where I broke 500K in credits. That is insane. Never even sniffed 500K credits before
lol.gif
It surprised me as it was just an average game but whatever the desirable combo I did really paid out...

2. After a year and 3 weeks I have finally got my 1st 19 point ship Captain.
banana2.gif
It is actually harder to grind to a 19pt Capt than it is a T10 ship. Just takes so many game played and so much Capt XP earned to advance points once you get up around 12. Just nuts. But, with the 3 Premium US BB's I have (Arizona, Alabama, Missouri) that can run my Montana Capt without having to retrain him it lets me play him on 4 ships which really speeds things up. Plus all the flags I got recently have helped too.

Now that he has reached 19pts the Capt become "elite" and all the Capt XP he earns can be used on other Capt's. YES!

So that is it for now but 2 pretty good things...

Just set a milestone in WOWS. Just played my 5000 Co-op game. Would have preferred to do a bit more in it but we won and I came in 1st so did my part. That is a lot of games

Haven't had a good old T10 BB slugfest carry in a long time. Just had a really fun one in Montana.

Haven't posted anything in a while. Been super busy playing and earning Free XP for the next T9 Premium BB that is on the way and that will replace Missouri (see a few posts/pages back for info on MO). The MO is being retired and will be replaced by the T9 Premium IJN BB Musashi (sister ship to Yamato). MO cost 750K Free XP which was quite a grind and a lot of hard work. Musashi will actually be more expensive and will cost 920K Free XP!
shocked.gif
However, I have played a lot of games in all the premium ships I got in the Santa boxes (see last few pages) as well as MO itself which gives amazing rewards, plus been using all the reward boosting flags I have, and I already have the 920K Free XP needed for Musashi. So whenever she gets here (about 2 months or so) I am ready. Will post when I have it.

Here is a game I just had and it was in the Russian T8 Premium CL Mikhail Kutuzov. One of the favorite ships of the OP of this thread (Nick R). Got the ship in a Santa crate and it is really good. He was right. Just had this one that was touch and go. Just Cruisers, DD's, and a CV; no BB's. That can actually be harder in Co-op when you have mostly bots on your team, which was the case in this game, as the friendly bots die super fast leaving you facing other Cruisers that fire as fast as you and have torps too. I find it harder than facing enemy BB's when down ships. Only 3 of us for humans on the team so 5 bots. The humans were myself, a DD, and the CV.

DD and I pushed the C cap and when we popped out between the islands we encountered a wall of torps like I have never seen. They were EVERYWHERE!!!! Between an enemy DD and 2 Cruisers launching them, as well as the enemy CV cross dropping us, they were coming from all directions. Russian Cruisers are not the most maneuverable but somehow I dodged everything and was like PHEW! Then the torp warning went off and a wave from one of our friendly bots comes flying in and I ate a couple which lead to my dying at the very end as it took so much health I could have used.

The enemy CV popped up behind us so we went for it after capping. My friendly DD went down to the enemy CV which left just me and the friendly CV vs 4. I continued after the enemy CV dodging torps, bombs, and shots from enemy ships trailing me. Got the Cv and then turned back and got a DD. Our CV got the enemy Kutuzov which left me at about 1/3 health vs a 1/3 health enemy T8 French Cruiser Charles Martel. I dodged and weaved while shooting and managed to take it down to where whichever of us got the last hit would win and dang it if it didn't get me. I zigged when I should have zagged. We still won as I had it all but dead so our CV finished it easy. Good game.

Damage doesn't seem like a lot but remember no BB. The credits are INSANE!!!! Wow this is like the 2nd most I have ever got in Co-op. I see why Nick likes the ship so much. It is really fun.

Been running my higher tier (T9/T10) ships this weekend as there have been a lot of other high tier players out. Got sucked into a game though with just 3 of us and to make it even better (LOL) one of the other 2 guys was AFK all game. So it was basically me in my Yamato and the other guy in his Tirpitz. We decided to each try and hold the edge caps so I went C and he went A. I ended up facing the bigger push including the enemy Yamato and North Carolina both at full health. Had no choice but to charge them as the game was winding down and they were capping. Somehow despite the horrific turret rotation on Yamato, and the risk of getting lolpenned by one or the other if I made a wrong turn, I got them both for the win. Decent game stat wise...

Nick sure was right about the Mikhail Kutuzov. The ship is a beast. You can hold down an entire side of the map alone if you have to (not that I want to but can if needed like in this game). Really enjoying it which surprises me. Not a big fan of Russian ships to this point in the game but this one is a lot of fun.

Hello all. Been a while since I posted about a new ship so going to do that here. Also will be a big fleet update tomorrow. Not going to spoil it by revealing what it is early. You will just have to check back. Will try and get it posted tomorrow but it might take a day or two due to an incoming Nor'easter and some personal stuff on Thursday. Will try though so stay tuned...
lol.gif

So, the new ship. I purchased the US T5 Premium Light Cruiser (CL) Marblehead. I have a surplus of Doubloons and the ship is cheap so I grabbed it. Basically an Omaha with a few slight differences. With the US Cruiser line splitting here at some point this year (soon'ish) I want a Premium US Light Cruiser to have to help train Captains in. So seeing as I like the Omaha I grabbed the Marblehead.

Stats, port shots, and 1st game info posted below. As it is a Premium ship there are no upgrades for it. Comes in it's final form. That's it until the big update hopefully tomorrow...

Ship: USS MARBLEHEAD
Nation: United States Navy (USN)
Tier: 5 Premium
Ship Type: Light Cruiser(CL)
Survivability(HP): 27,000 HP
Armor: 6-76MM / 0% Torpedo Damage Reduction
Maximum Speed: 34.0 knots
Rudder Shift: 5.7 seconds
Turning Radius: 600m
Detection By Sea: 13.1km
Detection By Air: 6.7km

Shell Type:
Armor Piercing(AP) = 3100 damage
High Explosive(HE) = 2200 (14% chance of fire)

Secondary Guns:
none

Anti Aircraft Defense(AA):
76.2MM = 4X1
Overall AA Rating = 11

Torpedoes: 2X3 533MM
Torpedo Reload(RL): 38 seconds RL
Torpedo Range: 8.2km
Torpedo Speed: 49 knots
Torpedo Max Damage (p/ torp): 6233

Slot 1 = Main Armaments Modification 1 (helps protect against main/secondary/AA guns and torpedo tubes being damaged)
Slot 2 = Propulsion Modification 1 (increases survivability of and reduces repair time of engine)
Slot 3 = Aiming Systems Modification 1 (improves main gun accuracy and secondary gun accuracy and range)

Camo:
USS Marblehead comes with it's own Type 9 Marblehead permanent camo. The camo provides the following benefits...

-3% Detectability Range By Sea
+4% Dispersion to Enemy Guns
-10% Post Battle Service Fee
+50% XP Earned

Mounted Consumables: (*)
Damage Control Party (stops fires and flooding + repairs damage to main/secondary/AA guns and torpedo tubes)
Hydroacoustic Search (like sonar - increases detection range of enemy ships and incoming torpedoes)
Catapult Fighter (ship launched fighter plane - not very effective)

* - consumables are manually activated special features. They have a limited active time then require a recharge period (sometimes lengthy) before you can use them again. All consumables have a premium version (II) available that cost resources and have to be purchased for each battle. The standard versions (I) are free and come mounted by default.

Captain:
I do not have a Capt assigned to the ship specifically. Being a Premium ship I can use any US Capt in it. I will be using my Omaha and/or Atlanta Capt in the ship for now.

Ok guys time for the news... The new ship added to my port is the brand new Free XP Premium T9 IJN BB Musashi (sister ship of Yamato). This ship is replacing the soon to be retired (about 2 months +/-) Missouri (see a few pages back) as the T9 Premium Free XP ship. Missouri, and now Musashi, are only available to players who have earned and are willing to spend 750,000 Free XP. That is a LOT of Free XP. A LOT!

I was able to get Missouri back on the 25th of Dec shortly after finding out they were retiring it (look back a few pages for more info) and then managed to scrape together another 750K Free XP before Musashi was released this morning with the latest update. All the premium ships, and reward boosting flags, I got in the Santa boxes I posted about earlier really helped me to do this because without them it wouldn't have happened. It is a HUGE deal being able to earn enough to get these 2 Free XP Premium ships. I can't believe I did it actually.

So, about Musashi. It is the sister ship (ie; same ship class IRL) of the in game standard tech tree T10 IJN BB Yamato. WG reduced the accuracy of the main guns and gave it an early build AA and secondary gun suite (AA is awful) to reduce it's capabilities enough to fit in at T9 and not be too strong. Not sure they did enough? Yes the AA is bad (it SUCKS!!!), and the secondary guns are not as good as Yamato's (still ok though), but despite having worse accuracy than Yamato it is still very accurate because Yamato is one of the most accurate in the game. They reduced it but basically just to regular accuracy levels. They also left the same armor and the HP's which means Musashi has some 20K+ more HP than any other T9. It is a T9 with T10 armor and health plus those 18" monster guns which are the biggest in game. So not sure enough was done to down grade it but I don't care because I got one
lol.gif
.

This ship should prove to be very good. A bonus of it being a T9 ship means it will see T7 ships now (WG uses a +2 MM system). Yamato would see T8 ships as the lowest but Musashi will see T7's and will feast upon them
lol.gif
. Have played a few games already and it is just like being in Yamato and I am liking it a lot.

Being a Premium there are not upgrades and it comes in it's final form (hull, guns, engine, etc...). Stats then port shots and first game results below...

Ship: HIJMS Musashi
Nation: Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN)
Tier: 9 Premium
Ship Type: Battleship(BB)
Survivability(HP): 97,300 HP

Maximum Speed: 27.0 knots
Rudder Shift: 14.9 seconds
Turning Radius: 900m
Detection By Sea: 13.5km
Detection By Air: 12.4km
Detection When Firing In Smoke: 19.3km

Main Armament: 3X3 460MM (2 turrets front/1 rear)
Main Gun Range: 26.5km
Rate Of Fire(ROF)/Reload(RL): 2.27 shots per min ROF / 26.4 seconds RL
180 Degree Turret Rotation: 62.6 seconds
Shell Dispersion @ Max Range: 256m

Shell Type:
Armor Piercing(AP) = 14,800 damage
High Explosive(HE) = 7300 (35% chance of fire)

Secondary Guns:
127MM = 6X2 (dual purpose)
155MM = 4X3

Secondary Gun Range:
All = 8.8km

Secondary Gun Rate Of Fire(ROF)/Reload(RL):
127MM = 8.82 shots per min ROF / 6.8 seconds RL (dual purpose)
155MM = 5.55 shots per min ROF / 10.8 seconds RL

Secondary Gun Shell Type:
127MM = High Explosive(HE) (dual purpose)
155MM = Armor Piercing(AP)

Anti Aircraft Defense(AA):
13.2MM = 2X2
25MM = 12X3
127MM = 6X2 (dual purpose)
Overall AA Rating = 57

Mounted Modules:
Slot 1 = Main Armaments Modification 1 (helps protect against main/secondary/AA guns and torpedo tubes being damaged)
Slot 2 = Damage Control Systems Modification 1 (reduces risk of fire and flooding)
Slot 3 = Aiming Systems Modification 1 (-7% main gun dispersion / -5% secondary gun dispersion / +5% secondary gun range)
Slot 4 = Steering Gears Modification 2 (reduces rudder shift by 20%)
Slot 5 = Concealment System Modification 1 (-10% to detection range and +5% to enemy gun dispersion)
Slot 6 = Main Battery Modification 3 (-12% to main gun reload / +13% main gun turret rotation)

Camo:
HIJMS Musashi comes with it's own Type 10 Musashi permanent camo. You can also purchase a second permanent camo; Type Y118. The camo's provide the following benefits...

Type 10:
-3% Detectability Range By Sea
+4% Dispersion to Enemy Guns
-20% Post Battle Service Fee
+100% XP Earned

Type Y118:
-3% Detectability Range By Sea
+4% Dispersion to Enemy Guns
-20% Post Battle Service Fee
+50% Captain XP Earned
+100% XP Earned

Mounted Consumables: (*)
Damage Control Party (stops fires and flooding + repairs damage to main/secondary/AA guns and torpedo tubes)
Repair Party Repair Party (heals back some of the damage taken)
Spotter Plane (ship launched Spotter Plane - increases main gun range while active) (**)

* - consumables are manually activated special features. They have a limited active time then require a recharge period (sometimes lengthy) before you can use them again. All consumables have a premium version (II) available that cost resources and have to be purchased for each battle. The standard versions (I) are free and come mounted by default.

** - HIJMS Musashi has the option to mount a Spotter Plane - OR - a Catapult Fighter Plane in the same slot. I have chosen the Spotter Plane. Catapult Fighters are not very good and the increased visibility and firing range of the Spotter Plane while it is active is of more use usually. I am trying it this way for now. I may swap to the fighter to help with air defense as the AA is so bad.

Captain:
I am using the 15 pt Capt out of my Yamato. Premium ships can use a Capt from any ship of the same nation, and then have the Capt go back to the original ship, at no cost to retrain them when put on the ships. There is no need to have a dedicated Musashi Capt. Using my Yamato Capt will help earn Capt XP faster to get it maxed out at 19pts and then all XP that Capt earns will become elite Capt XP and can be used on other Capt's. The 15 pts are assigned as follows...

1pt = Priority Target (let's you know when you are targeted and by how many)
1pt = Incoming Fire Alert (let's you know when a ship targeting you shoots)
2pt = Expert Marksman (increase rotation speed of main gun turrets)
3pt = Basic Fire Training (decreases reload time of secondary guns and increases damage output of the AA guns)
4pt = Advanced Fire Training (increases the range of both secondary and AA guns)
4pt = Concealment Expert (-14% to detection range)

IJN T9 Premium BB HIJMS Musashi w/ Type Y118 (this is the one I will be using) & Type 10 Permanent Camo's (Port = Dragon Sea):
