Pressurized fuel injection cleaning fluid?

Greetings everyone. I recently purchased one of the injector cleaning kits that hooks straight onto the fuel rail, and have been researching which fluid would work best to properly clean the injectors. I see a lot of good things about BG44K, but around here, I've picked up on the desire for PEA in a cleaner, which makes me wonder what solutions can actually be used in the aforementioned manner (instead of simply pouring a bottle into the fuel tank).

With this in mind, can Redline SI-1 be run full-strength through the fuel rail? If not, what are some good fluids that can? I tried to search, but have problems finding things with this forum's search function (maybe it's user-error). I'd much rather ask what may be a silly question and get good results than the alternative.

You need to use a cleaner that is formulated for the engine to run on it. When you use a pressure injector cleaning kit the engine runs off of what's in the can.

Do you have a plugged injector or is this for maintenance?

That said I ran two tanks of fuel with Amsoil PI added to each one and unclogged a fully plugged injector in my Neon with it. The injector was just dripping fuel out and now it's a nice clean spray pattern.

Maintenance, and hoping to smooth out a pretty rough idle at 120,000 miles. The car was driven for a long time with a seriously dirty MAF sensor which caused all sorts of trouble codes and various issues. Having finally remedied that and a nasty vacuum leak, I'm just trying to get her a bit more cleanly inside.

What brand of cleaning equipment do you have? Do they recommend any brand or type of cleaner?

I have an OTC brand cleaner and I just use their branded cleaner.

I snagged a generic one from Harbor Freight, so it doesn't recommend any cleaner. I looked at a few, and in truth can only find a few meant for this type of cleaning. One of those was the OTC mentioned. I'm thinking about using the BG Fuel Injection System Cleaner, unless I get a more educated differing opinion. Here are the fluids I've found:

Speak to the Amsoil sponsors of this board and have them send you 2 bottles of the Amsoil PI stuff.

Pour it in your tank and fill up with fuel. (Top-Tier if possible) run until almost empty and then pour the second bottle in and fill up again and run that tank to near empty.

If this doesn't clean it up then nothing can IMO, because the Amsoil PI is Super stuff!

P.s. you may want to follow up with a UCL like MMO or Lucas for a tank after the last tank of the Amsoil PI stuff. This will add some lubrication back to the fuel system and help prevent future buildup.

I believe 3M makes similar kit and chemicals. If you can NOT trust 3M, whom can you trust ? Seriously, you can not go wrong with 3M or BG.

+1......I have the kit used it once about 5 years ago on a used PU I bought. Cleaned things up nice it ran like a top after that. Then I started adding MMO to the gas and never had a problem again.

The same type, you just remove the fuel line into the TBI and install the "machine" directly.
