Premium Guard PG4615 Subaru filter, 6k miles.

This was in my Ascent for 6k miles with Supertech 5w30.

I think it looks great, specially for $1.80!
I do wish the ADBV was sturdier.. but in a few months I'll have one with 10k miles off my parents' Legacy to see.

This filter is also being used in my Civic Si, I quite like the value of it.
However, in my STI I will probably "splurge" for something with a silicon adbv like Wix.

I think you could easily go 12,000 if that's what 6,000 looks like!!

Does a Soob Ascent use an OLM of any kind?

It doesn't have an OLM, I will probably change every 7-8k!

I have yet to see any evidence that Premium Guard conventional or synthetic oil filters are anything but solid. And Rockauto has many of them at good prices.

It is, but I won't use 0w20 on a turbo engine considering i live in Florida and drive my cars hard.

Are Ascents turbo'd? If so, I wouldn't go 12k without a used oil analysis. I'd do whatever Subaru says.

Yes it's turbo, I will not push it past 8k miles between oil changes.

Why don't you want to use 0W20? I live in South Texas and both my Honda's call for 0W20 and that's all I've used. My Civic has 72k miles (I drive all highway 4 days a week and 180 miles round trip for work) and the CRV has 66k miles with no problems whatsoever. I just don't get why everyone on here is scared of 0W20.

Not scared of 0w20, I use it on the Legacy which has an N/A motor.
I just won't use 0w20 on a turbo car, specially with my driving, my Civic Si with a turbo motor also gets 5w30.
