Here’s a flawless PGI filter as usual. 6 months/ 3500 miles on my 2021 Subaru Outback 2.5L 48.3k Miles using Amsoil Extended Life 5w30. I’ll swap to proper PG4615EX when a handful of the smaller 4612’s run out. Hopefully the 4615 is more readily available by then.

These filters click all of the buttons for me. Will be using these in the foreseeable future.

Remember they are easy to get usually in your vicinity at Oreilly, Autozone or Advance Auto in the taller version of this 4612 or other model #'s for your vehicles.

The red gasket and ADBV seem to be a commonality with PG made filters. Is anyone still seeing black colored gaskets with PG made filters?

All their lower level filters have the nitrile but on the extended mileage versions I think it might just depend on the factory it is coming from because some of the Carquest Premium and Ecogard still have them and I am sure there are a few others but they are mostly Chinese.

Does Premium Guard make all the Carquest and NAPA filters now?
Don't think "all". Some of the lower tier filters may still be made by others, like Wix/Mann+Hummel. It's typically the extended use (10K+ mile) filters that are under PGI.

When I bought my Carquest Premium 84356s for the Pilot a month or so ago, some were made in Vietnam while others were made in China. The Vietnam COO were P-style silicone (red), while those with China COO had a black, square/rectangular gasket. I'm assuming nitrile, but did not try to burn one in the store. Same part number on box with instructions to see product inside for COO. Both had silicone ADBV. I bought a dozen made in Vietnam.

I could visualize that ... store employees going what the ****. :D

Actually, they only had a handful on the shelf, so I asked the manager if they had more in back and she let me open all they had so I could pick out those made in Vietnam. She even gave me a discount (after I asked) because I bought a dozen. That left them with ~six made in China, which she couldn't have cared less.

Could you show a pic of the profile of the P type gasket? Thanks.
