Third filter on the cutter this afternoon is a Premium Guard 99495.

This filter comes of a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer w/ 40k miles. The filter was in service for 5k miles with Castrol Edge Extended Performance 0w20. This filter crosses over to AC-Delco PF66, quite common on GM vehicles.

As with all Premium Guard filters, looks great! I'm surprised there's not more carbon in the bottom of the canister with the engine being turbocharged.

If there's some debris in the bottom of the can then there's going to be more in the pleats, deep down in the pleat "V". Most might be too small to see well, and embedded in the media.

I let the filter wick overnight, bit of carbon in the pleats. It's interesting to see the difference in what the filter media looks in comparison to the other PGI, higher efficiency, filter media. They have quite a few different one, I would suppose, with having multiple factories.

Here's the pics:

Are you thinking this one is better? I started running these on my lz0.
I think so. I've cut open so many now that I can say pretty assuredly that these Premium Guard PG99495 filters are better made than their AC Delco PF66 counterparts. But, this could all change. Some filters, like the PF63, is switching over to a new manufacturer that looks nearly identical to Premium Guard made filters. There's a lot going on with Champ Labs at the moment. I have yet to see a bad Premium Guard filter, I can't say the same about most of the other brands.

Still wish they made PG branded xl in this size.
I emailed them a while back and all they said was that they would pass the recommendation along. They already make a XL version with the CarQuest Premiums and Microgard Selects. I wish they could just slap their name and logo on those and call it a day.
