Thanks to all for the prayers being said for Joanne. The results of the biopsy were not encourageing. But neither were they a death sentence. There was a tumor on the pancreas, but in a favorable location. It it 90% certain in is milignant. Also she has a severe ulcer which is possibly cancerous. All results will be in from testing by Friday the 14th. She has a marvelous team of doctors working for her. Please keep the prayers coming. They are greatly appreciated.

Here to provide a update and thanks to all the folks who prayed or just passed along good wishes to Joanne.

Chemo starts for her gastric cancer on Thursday. There will be 3 chemo sessions, 3 weeks apart, with 3 different chemo drugs. The doctors have told us that the chemo has a 75% chance of making her cancer free.

The best news is that the growth near the pancreas was not attached and was a benign cyst, not a cancerous tumor.

The petscan showed only a small spot on her liver, not cancerous, and nothing else of consequence, other than the gastric cancer, which was not on/in the esophageous(sp?). The ulcer in the vicinity of the gastric tumor is healing nicely.

The doctors think the gastric cancer was caused by her arthritis. Never heard of this before. But I am not a doctor. (I only play one on BITOG

Again thanks for the prayers and please keep them coming.
