I don't know if anyone has been to walmart lately, but I was there yesterday and checked the automotive section. At both of my local Walmart's, PP dropped from 19.97 to 19.00. Thought maybe some people would like to know.

Yeah, it was a rollback, had the sale thing sticking out showing the price drop
It seems to vary by store. In more rural areas of Georgia, it was always $19/jug. In Atlanta metro, more usually $19.97. I bought 2 jugs when in a small town recently.
did it drop per quart as well?
We had it at 19.00 locally as well. NO SALE MAKINGS AT ALL!!!!
It went up from $19.00 to $19.97 for about a week, then came right back down.

PP and Valvoline Synpower are both $19 (5 qrts) at walmart here in ventura.

Not the first time I've seen that method employed. I think it's standard practice for them to bump the price up really high just long enough for them to lower it from the new high price a tad and call it a roll back, even though it is still higher than the price maybe only a week earlier.

It's nice to see this kind of a price drop after all this we've been hearing about how these evil major brands are going to hike up their prices. A five percent discount on one of the best PCMO oils out there... It's not much, but it's a step in the right direction. Maybe some of these pyramid operations should step up and follow a proven and successful business model.
I usually lurk, but this was just too good to pass up. I'm a faithful PP 5W-30 user and this made my day.
