Rebates my man. $2.87 for 5 quarts of PP if you use all 20 gallons on the Shell gas code rebate.

Yeah Johnny, member aquariscsm tells me the QSUD runs/ran smooth in his rides

I switched from 0w20 Castrol Edge to QSUD several changes ago in both of my Mazdas (14 Mazda6 and 16 CX5). Both cars seem to be a little bit quieter at idle. The QSUD is suppose to have more moly content than Castrol which Mazda seems to advocate for their cars. At times, the cost difference between the two can be fairly significant even at wally world.

I've run either PP or QSUD in my vehicles for years--no issue with either one and I always considered them virtually interchangeable. I've only recently abandoned SOPUS brands for Valvoline due to SOPUS' lack of response to their very difficult / onerous rebate program (i.e. tired of trying to get rebate money due me). Nothing wrong with SOPUS products, but there are many good alternatives--I vote with my money!

Rob, I've never had any problems getting a Pennzoil rebate, with the exception of one time, and that was when I claimed 2 rebates, but they did it automatically. I got one check for two rebates, and also a note that said they weren't paying both rebates because they were included on one.

Not saying it's always the case, but it's likely some of the requirements weren't met (purchase dates, rebate submission cutoffs, etc).

You'd think, right? I'm very careful about reading the details of rebates etc. I've had to call their "help line" a few times and they fixed it a couple times, but the wait on hold was longer than I liked for an issue I shouldn't have had to call about. Other times I was on hold for over 20 minutes and I simply hang up. Those are the hassles I speak of. My time is worth more than their rebates, especially when we have good options.

Are both PP and QSUD gtl?

SOPUS rep Gina Fishbeck has indicated several times in the past on BITOG that QS doe not use GTL basestock. Don't know if that has changed recently but there is no mention of GTL in QS's marketing info.

PP is GTL, QSUD is rumored to use it on occasion if there is excess available, but no way to know by looking at a bottle.
