To keep it simple, PP on-sale is probably one of the best values in a syn oil out there. It will easily handle 10-12k mile drains in most applications. The actual base oil doesn't really matter any more...

Platinum is and Mobil 1 has some in it. I do not know about the Maxlife. The additive package would have more to do with being potent than the base stock.

Maybe that would be a good advertising slogan. "The Potent Motor Oil"

You know, Mobil 1 is available in 19 different formulas, including two new ones that I have never seen on the shelves, called "Advanced Fuel Economy M1" and sold in 0W20 and 0W30 formulations. When you add their EP, High Mileage, Truck and SUV, Diesel, and Motorcycle M1's to the regular M1's, and consider all of the different formulations that go into these oils, you need to specify which specific M1 you are talking about.

I've been using MaxLife Synthetic Blend since 45,000 miles and now I have 107,000 miles. When people talk about MaxLife are they taking about the full synthetic or the blend?

Im curretnly running Mobil 0W30 advanced fuel formula and so far is doing pretty well. Compaired to Amsoil at 1000 miles color wise...i know i shouldnt go by that its alittle darker, maybe since this is after a clean and rinse cycle of auto rx.

Usually the semi-synthetic blend.

tHE 10w30 AND 10w40 M1 high milage formula is about as strong as it gets for over the counter oil at a retail setting.
