Last year in October, the Duratec 3.0 got PP 5W20. Since the OCI, I added only 1,200 miles...all highway. Is it fine to leave it in till Oct 2011 considering the low miles? I'm guessing the TBN would be high for me to leave it longer.

What do you think?

Well if it was parked inside in a somewhat climate stable environment than I can't see why you couldn't go longer.

Outside in the weather I'd worry about moisture since I know the Pocono's does get some wild weather.

Oh yeah, winters here suck BIG time.

And yes, it's mostly in the garage.

As long as you got the engine up to temp long enough to burn off moisture, etc you should be fine. I'd leave it.

Keep it in, low miles, probably low contaminants. I had my Jeep 4.0L sit for 2 years(yes 2 years) with less than 2k on the oil as it was an emergency vehicle. If I was expecting to use it for more than a day(car repairs or selling vehicle) I was change the oil, etc.

It was our backup vehicle and didn't need to be super well maintained but able to be run when duty called(and boy was it reliable).

That's no prob. Every time I use the van, it goes at least 250 miles round trip.

With all highway mileage and 250 miles per trip you should make your OCI based on mileage alone. So you could go at least two years. The TBN of the oil doesn't drop just sitting in the pan.
