Hello All, I started to notice on my 02' Envoy the driver side mirror clicks/trips for a couple of seconds when I hit the remote to unlock the door. I know that it positions itself for number 1 driver upon unlock. Any ideas to fix this?

nobody out there have problems with the power mirror?

no experience have i....

however, i notice that they will do the click thing if adjusted all the way one way and are trying to go further with some electric control.

So here's a theory (in the absence of anyone wiht any ACTUAL data, it seems appropriate...):

perhaps the mirror was adjusted manually once (it can be done, say, while cleaning the morror) and wound up being at one extreme, let's say far left. Then the computer says "this driver wants it adjusted to the left", and sends the signal to the servo motors to crank it over more to the left. Except it's already left as far as it will go...so it clicks.

possible solution: clear both the driver's memory mirror positions and reset them. or manually move it a bit to the right so when it does move, it CAN move the the left some (depends on which side it is "bottoming out").

I've noticed that power mirrors can sometimes freeze up (if you don't adjust them very often) so that they won't move and make clicking noises.

The solution is to gently push on the mirror in the direction it's trying to go, which should unfreeze the mechanism.

I'm with kenw here ..or rather I've had this occur on regular non-memory power mirrors. Whatever modality they use to move the mirror was already at its limit ..and that wasn't where it needed to be. Manually "realigned" and centered ..went full range. I'm sure a "learned" situation would complicate this since you're bypassing the internal calibration. You don't know what the brain uses to determin position. I'm sure the FSM has a remedy.
