post your latest transmission lubricant change.

I have used Maxlife for years, but recently switched to Mobil Multi Vehicle, as the viscosity is slighly higher, 5.9 as opposed to 6.4. Meets Dex6 and Toyota WS as well as nearly every other spec known or relevant.

Used it in my 1986 CUCV and in my sisters 2022 Honda Pilot.....

2003 Toyota Matrix, 229,146 miles:

Out- Unknown
In- Castrol Import + LG Platinum

Purchased yet another Matrix, I guess I like these things 😁 This one is for my FIL though; really needs a vehicle. I'll be driving it to Iowa in a few weeks to deliver and need to do several things before then.

Did 2x drain/fills, which yielded about 6 qts and added ~5oz LG. Fluid was quite dark, but at least smelled reminiscent of ATF. Unfortunately, pan bolt is stripped; so I will add that to the list of to-do's. Will likely swap pan, replace filter and do one more drain and fill.

Follow up to this, ended up replacing the pan with a unit that was highly rated from Amazon. Also replaced the filter and gasket which was a Beck Arnley kit seemed to be fine. 4 quarts total was replaced. Despite the original drain and fill showing dirty fluid, valve body and casing looked clean. Think I'm going to leave it alone now. The transmission has now had about 10 quarts put through it.

Out: unknown/ Castrol import atf
In: Castrol Import/ 3 more ounces LG Platinum

229,232 miles.

While I do believe the transmission fluid has been changed before as evidenced by the stripped plug, I don't think the filter was ever changed or pan dropped. Magnets did their job but that's 229,000 miles worth of goop!

Excellent job, hopefully this will take care of the FIL for many more years.

Took a walk on the wild side this weekend for some drain and fills for the 10 speed PXMA/PXMC (per Amsoil website) transmissions below. Approx 4 quarts each.

2023 Honda odyssey 44500 miles total, approximately 35k on the Amsoil ATF:
Out - factory fill/Amsoil ATF (red top)
In - HPL green ATF

2026 odyssey approx 5000 miles total:
Out - factory fill
In - HPL green ATF

I'll let you know how it goes with this change. Like the guy falling without the parachute said "so far, so good!"

Have you used the HPL green? Amsoil makes a great ATF I’ve heard.

First time for HPL green in any of my vehicles.

Yes, I have had great results with Amsoil ATF in the past but am no longer a preferred customer due to their current filter supplier issues. I am optimistic they will remedy these problems and I will come back in short order. Amsoil is a good company IMO.

Visited this one last time. Had about two to two and a half quarts remaining Castrol ATF. Decided I may as well use them, plus sometimes I feel like the shifts are a bit "firm". Possible that TCM is still learning after having been reset about 150 miles ago. I am glad that I did it. While what came out looked much better than what I started with, still somewhat dark. If I was keeping the car I would do it one or two more times but I think it will be good for my father-in-law. It's now had 12 quarts run through it.

Out- Castrol Import, some unknown ATF
In- 2.2 qts Castrol Import+ 2oz LG Platinum

2011 CVPI
Ford Motorcraft filter and fluid, about 4.5qts to drop the pan and change the filter. I do this every 25-30K miles. Last done at 123K miles per service records, did this at 145K. I also replaced the gasket and kept the original as a spare. I did not know when it was last replaced, and while reusable...why not make sure it's not almost old enough to vote?

Out and In: 3.5 qts Aisin FZ Blue ATF

I serviced the transmission when I first got the car for my grand niece; this is the 2nd service. Pretty black fluid came out. Maybe service it again in 20K? Shoulda put in a few ounces of Lubeguard Red?

Maybe do a cooler line exchange now to base line the unit?
