post your latest transmission lubricant change.

I’m planning on leaving my next trans fluid change, with Redline D4 ATF, in my Tremec TR-6060 (6MT) on my 2010 Chevy Camaro SS coupe. I’ve been changing it like every 4-6k miles or so, just because of how problematic my clutch cylinders were being. It would snick and feel like grinding, but I have only grinded on cold start driving if I was in a rush; either that or driving the car hard once the trans fluid/temps were a bit beyond “normal” operating.

I’m at around 48k miles now or so, and plan to leave in the trans fluid for like at least 9-10k miles and then see how well it does. Back when I used to have a Honda Accord V6 manual (6MT), I would change the MTF pretty much with every engine oil change, or every OTHER oil change. Probably not totally necessary, but I used to beat the HELL out of my manual Honda’s and Acura’s….

I’ve tried a bunch of different transmission fluids in my Tremec manual transmissions. The only other car I’ve done so, is on a 2011 Ford Mustang GT coupe, with the Getrag MT-82. I also baby that car, but it’s had a lot more harder miles than my current Camaro SS. Granted, those transmissions are filled with Ford/Motorcraft DCT fluid from the factory. They really do well/better with full synthetic GL-4 75w-80 or 75w-85 though. I wouldn’t mind running 75w-90 (GL-4), but it seems to take a bit longer to warm up, and I don’t really drive these cars all that hard these days…

Sorry. Only after pics.

2014 F150 FX4 with 74.2k miles

Installed PPE pan with additional 4.25qts capacity

Installed Canton billet remote oil filter base with Fleetguard synthetic media filter in 8A size

Installed the overpriced B&M dipstick kit for the 6R80

Purchased 5 gallons of Amsoil SS atf from @Pablo had about a gallon already sitting around. Used that gallon plus 2.5 from @Pablo
So about 3.5 total of Amsoil SS ATF is installed

Nice job and setup. Where did you get the B&M dipstick tube from? I'm thinking of putting one on my fiancé's 2017 F150 with the 6R80. Truck has about 54,000 miles on it, and I want to change out the factory fluid soon.

I ordered it from American Trucks. It’s very overpriced for what it is (about the same price as the PPE pan).

Thanks. I looked at them in the past and know they are expensive. I've got a dipstick kit from Performance Automatic installed in my 2014 Mustang GT and I think they still make one for the F150 but I like how the B&M kit installs better than the PA one.
