Just did a drain, filter and “flush” on my 10r140 in my 2020 F350 with 7.3L.
Odometer at 105k miles, trans was overhauled at 80k miles so 25k on this fluid.
I’ve been doing a lot of research on why these failures are happening and it looks like valve body’s are the main thing and also they don’t deal with contaminated fluid well and they are hard on fluid so the builders are recommending 20-30k services.
I installed a PPE pan for the sole purpose of having a drain plug and it also has a stand pipe built in to check fluid level since no dipstick on the 10r140 and the fill plug is right beside the catalytic converter. My thoughts were if I’m going to be servicing the trans that often I’m going to make it easier.
Used 21 quarts with 6 or so being the “flush”, I just put a hose on the output going to the cooler and started the truck with a full sump of new oil and let it run until I got clean fluid out.

I want to put an upgraded valve body in but haven’t found anyone with experience with 10r140s and 7.3Ls
Maybe by the time I’m ready to do my next service I’ll have a VB for it.
