post your latest transmission lubricant change.

Just did a drain, filter and “flush” on my 10r140 in my 2020 F350 with 7.3L.

Odometer at 105k miles, trans was overhauled at 80k miles so 25k on this fluid.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on why these failures are happening and it looks like valve body’s are the main thing and also they don’t deal with contaminated fluid well and they are hard on fluid so the builders are recommending 20-30k services.

I installed a PPE pan for the sole purpose of having a drain plug and it also has a stand pipe built in to check fluid level since no dipstick on the 10r140 and the fill plug is right beside the catalytic converter. My thoughts were if I’m going to be servicing the trans that often I’m going to make it easier.

Used 21 quarts with 6 or so being the “flush”, I just put a hose on the output going to the cooler and started the truck with a full sump of new oil and let it run until I got clean fluid out.

Mercon ULV

I want to put an upgraded valve body in but haven’t found anyone with experience with 10r140s and 7.3Ls
Maybe by the time I’m ready to do my next service I’ll have a VB for it.

Helped my kid do a siphon and refill on his 05 1500 Avalanche 92k miles.

Dropped 2.5 quarts out of the kids 2018 Jeep Compass (6 speed) and replaced with Maxlife ATF and some LG Platinum.

Far as I know this is the first time the poor thing has had any kind of fresh ATF put in it. What came out wasn't burned, but you could tell it has been in there forever and a day.

Next oil change I'll do another drop and fill.

2021 Toyota Tundra 5.7L 4x4 AB60F. 23,300mi. Setrab ATF cooler installed several months after truck purchase. First drain and fill. Trying out my new four uncles 10L pneumatic fluid dispenser.
Out: 5qts WS
In: 6qts WS, then whatever comes out after pulling the check plug.

Fluid still bright red for first drain n' fill. Will continue with 20-25,000mi dnf's to keep fluid fresh. Toyota does not recommend dropping the pan and changing the felt strainer.

1998 Accord LX 4 banger, 180K, approx 30K OCI
Rebuilt transmission; the 6 bangers are not the only Hondas of this vintage that have transmission problems.

Out and In: about 2.5 qts DW-1. Very little metal in the plug magnet. Old fluid was beautiful.
Added a little Lubguard Red for good measure.

2010 Chev Silverado 1500 with 4.8 liter engine. Used my Flo N Go Shop Vac assisted system with 3/8 inch OD tubing clear plastic tubing down the dipstick tube and pulled out 3-1/2 quarts of transmission fluid, the maximum amount possible with the plastic tube landed on top the transmission filter. Replaced with 3-1/2 quarts of AC Delco Dexron VII. Here are two pics of samples of the old fluid and new fluid. The new fluid is slightly brighter red. You can see the color of the old fluid inside the suction tube against the white front fender. Pan drops on the 1500 are a PITA due to the exhaust crossover right below the pan.

How did the old fluid look? How do you like the MaxLife? Thanks in advance.
Old fluid looked good, but then again, both of my Honda's get a D&F every 10k, I do that as opposed to a 3x D&F every 30.

As for the Maxlife, I used to not care for it as it made the shifts a decent bit more harsh, but the LG Platinum tames that down somewhat and that's all I've been using for a while now.

2018 Honda CRV 48985 miles

Out 4 qts Honda HCF-2
In 4 qts Honda HCF-2

It's been 3.5 years and 20,409 miles since my last spill and fill. The magnetic drain plug just had a little bit of black iron paste on it. Certainly not enough that you could see it protruding off the plug, but enough that it left black streaks when I wiped it off. Instead of doing the 2x fluid exchange to get most of the old fluid out, I've adopted a 1x fluid exchange about every 20k miles going forward. I took a sample which will be going off to OAI tomorrow.

Here is the entire history of transmission fluid exchanges:
1st time at 24684 miles
2nd time at 28576 miles
3rd time at 48985 miles
