Plan on doing 2 more drain and fills in the next couple of months with IMV and then Maxlife.

9.5 quarts of AC/Declo Dex VI. That is 3 quarts over stock.
Keeps it 10 to 20 degrees cooler while towing.

A friend's 08 CR-V AWD, I did a spill and fill of unknown fluid for 3.5 quarts of Honda DW-1. Sure, I can use MaxLife but Honda gearboxes are a different beast...

D&F 3.75Qts sp4m Hyundai fluid. Second D&F for this car. Shifting great. Also did s plugs, belt, D&F radiator. Good for another 40-50k.

Seems a little low - those usually take 4-4.25. Did you use a scan tool to verify temp before adjusting the fluid level?

Used B&M drain plug to dump a gallon into a 5 quart oil jug … put in AC Delco Dex VI from the $18/gallon tip posted here.
This completes 12 quarts D&F with the filter and magnets done at 27k …
ATF is so clean that I had to walk into the sun to see level on the dipstick …
… so good to go for a while …

No I didn't. Just put back in what was drained out. First D&F was also 3.75qts.

2009 Ford Fusion with FNR5 transmission at 196000km

Dropped pan this time, put in Beck/Arnley filter and Type M5 fluid. Took 4 quarts.

Old fluid was in pretty bad shape, black and bit of a burning smell this time - probably waited too long to make the change (last did a drain and fill in 2016 around 126000km with Motorcraft FNR5)

Have 8 quarts left over so will probably do another drain and fill shortly to get some more of that old fluid.

Very busy lately so i had a new-to-me-yet-VERY-highly rated local garage do it.
2.8 hours!!!! Good Lord I am still complaining.

I swear they overfilled. most online say 7.5-8 qts with a pan drop.
Dorman says they don't change the capacity.
Unless they spilled, they used 8 qts 14 oz and i swear she is running hotter than usual.

Did my '17 Silverado 6 speed automatic. Sucked 5 qts out of dip stick tube 3x over last 1000 miles, at 32k. Filters last a long time. Used AC Delco full synthetic Decron VI. Good for another 30k. Nice & red now. Also did transfer case & front & rear differentials and brake fluid. Now all fluids are fresh.

A family member just picked up a nice 2008 Sonata 2.4 with only 56K. The ATF still looked red and smelled good but I assume it's the OE fluid since the original owner (an older lady) doesn't remember having it changed . I used the Mityvac and was able to remove 4 quarts and refilled with 4 quarts of Amalie Synthetic Universal ATF (because it claims to be suitable for SPIII fluid and I had it on hand). The shifting feels great just as it did before changing it. The only issue is that it appears to be overfilled according to the dipstick....even though we replaced exactly what came out.
It did seem overfilled during our cursory pre purchase inspection but it was 98* at the time so I assumed it had expanded. I'm debating whether to remove some fluid or leave it alone since it's been running that way for 56K......

PS: There is no bubbling or other sign of being overfilled except for it being above the 'hot' line on the dipstick...Would you remove some or leave it alone?
