Post your latest small engine oil change

John Deere LTR166 Mower- Briggs 18hp
Out - 1qt Havoline Dino 5W-30, 8 oz Rotella Gas & Truck, new Briggs filter.
In - 1.5 qts Valvoline Restore & Protect 5W-30, STP S3614XL

The 1.5 qt is a bit to high just over full line so might drain a little. Maybe just live with it until it burns some off, we'll see how ambitious I get.

Restore & Vanguard !

2011 JD X320 94 hours on tractor, out; 20W50 Castrol motorcycle oil & OE8A filter.
In; 5W40 Pennzoil Euro platinum & OE8A filter. Snowblower goes on in November for the first time, so out with the 20w50.

New 2021 Kubota T2290kwt-48, same 726cc Kawasaki engine, 8 hours on tractor. Out; three year old gasoline smelling factory fill and filter. In 15W40 T5 and OE3600 filter.

NGK BPR5EiX-11 plugs.

Kohler commander (23?) hp. Amsoil small engine 10w30/napa gold 1036 out. Replaced with the same, but new. New spark plugs too!

Amsoil hydrostatic oil (5w30?) out, Amazon knock off trans filters out.

HPL summer tractor (10W30) in. OEM Deere (spendy) trans filters in.

New fuel filter, new Napa gold air cleaners in.

She’s running like a top now!

Did you replace the plugs in both, or just the X320? How'd they look?
The Kubota had the stock Champion RN14YC plugs that were totally black from being started with the choke several times and moved around the dealership yard for three years. Never warmed up properly or worked.
I warmed up the engine, drained the oil and put the BPR5EiX-11 plugs in that had been in the X320 for 10 hours.
The -11 is a designation for .043” gap and is for electronic ignition only. Metric mm to inches; 1.1/25.4= .043
I couldn’t find another set of the same plugs or the same without the -11, but got BKR5EiX which are shorter with a 5/8 hex instead of 13/16 and .032” gap. Those fit in the X320, but if they were any shorter it would be a no go.
IMO the engines start quicker and run smoother with iridium plugs.
Yesterday I took off the little 16-6.0-8 front tires and put on 18-9.50-8. I tend to bro-truck everything and now the Kubota looks mean.
The tires are a big for the rims, but should improve the ride at 12 psi.
The X320 has Carlstar 18-7.50-8 front and AT2 6 ply 23-11-10 rear.
Lots of room on the Kubota for a #3600 filter, but the bigger OD PH8A size won’t go on because there’s a oil pressure sender in the way.

All my pull toys have 2 inch receivers, so I drilled a half inch hole into a 2 inch drop receiver and bolted it upside down to the bumper so it’s now a 2 inch riser with a two inch ball.

My moms Briggs PPDX 20kw natural gas generator which she had installed last year, 35 hp Vanguard

Changed the factory 5W30 synthetic 🤮🤮🤮 (too thin for an air cooled) and Briggs filter after Hurricane Francine and it had 35 hours on it

Put in some Premium Blue 15W40 Diesel/Gas/Natural Gas oil and a Napa Gold 7035 which is now made by Baldwin

Ill change it at 100 hrs with either Mobil 1 or Vanguard 15W50 and a Briggs filter

Waiting on my latest box from HPL. I have a cabinet full of HPL 0w20 PPCMO and a bit of 0w30 PPCMO on hand. Waiting for some more 0w30 PPCMO now for my weekend oil change. I have been mixing HPL 0w20 and 0w30 + Honda oil filters in our small sump 3.7 qt Honda 1.5 GDI-T engine and it has been doing real fine with that. Engine really sounding smooth as ever (barley hear it running) and getting great mpg. Not as much fuel dilution (yes it is still there as no magic fix) with this mix I been using and the warm weather maybe helps too. I like the HPL as I can tell regular use has appeared to have cleaned some stuff from engine and the oil takes much longer to get dark between oci. Car seems to warm up quicker and not much gas smell when checking oil level like in past. Cold weather season may be another story with the dilution. Will see soon.

Gave this “new to me” Red girl a workout…and then an oil change with the addition of a Magnetic dipstick from Goldplug.

Generac iX2000
Out: Mobil 1 5w30 EP
In: Rotella T4 15w40

Honda EU2000i
Out: unknown
In: Rotella T4 15w40

We lost power yesterday around noon. I got our Generac iX2000 (bought new in January of 2013) out and ran our two deep freezers and refrigerator on it last night for about 4 hours and then refilled it with gas and let it run through the night while I was asleep. It ran out of gas at some point throughout the night. I refilled it with gas this morning and let it run all day today until they restored power to my house at around 7PM. The Honda belongs to a friend, it spent the day at my parents house running their refrigerator and deep freezer until the power came back on. I run stabilized fuel (Stabil 360 Marine along with TCW3 @ 640:1) in all of my OPE, so my buddy’s Honda is now full of fresh stabilized fuel and has fresh oil in it, it’s ready to go back home. That EU2000i is a lot quieter and more fuel efficient than our Generac. I’m thinking that I might pick up a new EU2200i soon.

The Generac has served us well, we bought it during a big winter storm in 2013. If you look online you won’t find many good reviews on the iX2000, but ours hasn’t had any issues in the nearly 12 years that we’ve had it, it still starts on the first pull most of the time. I have replaced the primer bulb once and that’s it. It’s still running the factory spark plug, I keep checking it and it always looks good, the gap is always good, so I keep putting it back and running it. I have no idea how many hours it has, but it’s been ran quite a bit.

This can be a place to post our latest small engine oil change. I guess spring time would be the best time to start a thread like this.

I figure it would be good to include the engine info, brand and weight of oil, and filter where applicable. Here goes mine:

1954 B&S 2.5HP 6B-HS - 20oz. M1 15W-40 Gold Cap
1954 :D
Green one is first year of aluminum blocks, the '43 is an N still on its Army paint sprayer base. The B, from the layers of paint, is an Army surplus that was later acquired (by the guy I got it from) from an Oregon logging operation. I like old small engines, especially B&S!

Oh, and I run 15W40 oil in all of them at this point. Seems to be great for em,
