New Denso radiator for the 02 Jeep. Top tank split while doing errands around town. Happy I wasn’t 20 miles from nowhere.

45 minute job because I’m slow.

Well, the Fusion predictably failed NYS inspection
Play in the passenger outer tie rod end
So in my twisted mind that means inner + outer tie rod ends on both sides 🙄
Local sources are $45-$80 for one single aftermarket tie rod end
Aftermarket suspension parts suck, and OEM parts prices are up, would've been easily $200+ shipped
Plus there might be an impending strike 😱
Luckily, ZF/TRW are having a clearance/Labor Day on there eBay store
So instead of inferior aftermarket, I got the same Canada made TRW parts that are in the Motorcraft box, for a much better price

Less than $100 delivered for OE supplier quality inner/outer tie rod ends, and I thought the sway bar bushings would be a nice refresh, that's most reasonable these days 🤌

Aisin water pump, thermostat and t-stat gasket for a 2011 Scion 😆 with the 1.8L 2ZR-FE.
Yes the smiley was intentional XD roflmao.

Didn't expect a t-stat gasket in a white box.

It's because amazon sent me one BOX of 10 t-stat gaskets. Set for life since OEM t-stats don't come with a gasket. Hopefully it cross-refs with other Toyota models.

Had to double check my invoice and indeed I still got charged for a single gasket.

Not auto related - Door closer kit and a lab jack.

The refrigerator door stopped self-closing a few months ago. Noticed yeaterday a pile of black powder on the floor under the bottom door hinge. Ordered a door closer kit; figured I'd do both the refer and freezer door.

Most of these appliance parts places post DIY videos. In one, the guy took the entire door off (screw that). In another, the guy left the door in place and supported it piece of wood and worked on the bottom hinge. I think this is the way I'll do it.

I measured the distance from the floor to the bottom edge of the door for the block of wood. I measured ~5.125" but hard to tell with a tape measure. I have a lab jack someplace in the garage; I just ordered one from Amazon; I ordered a 6x6 jack. Other than in a chem lab, this is another perfect use for one.

It'll be a few days until the parts arrive.

Well, guess I'm keeping the Fusion and making it mine
Time to refine it
I'd hate to lose a good low mileage transmission to ~$100 worth of cooler line and fluid
And Mercon LV @ ~$6 per qt, I can afford to drain and fill an extra time to hopefully prolong 6F35 life
I doubt I'm getting the 202k miles I got out of the U151E in my Camry, but I'm giving it my best

A cabinet jack or "labor saving arm" might also be an option. I just received a pair of these. Took forever on the slow boat and now shows as NLA but there are literally dozens of competitors on Amazon:

Bought one rear rotor (it's a long story) from AutoZone last night and some pads and hardware for the front of the Accent.

Friend of mine called me on the way home saying the battery light came on
...had to go jump him 2 blocks from home 🙄
I hear Mando is the brand for Hyundai/Kia vehicles, the picture shows Valeo stamped on the alternator
Yet it was cheaper than the Valeo choice, and offered a longer warranty 🤷‍♂️
We'll see when it gets here 🤔

It's gotta be better than parts store lifetime of warranty swap reman garbage at $280 + tax 😒

Be interesting to hear how it works out.. I saw the pictures says Made in Korea.. Something different is better (like you were saying) than the junk parts store alternators, I agree.. take a chance!

We'll see about long term durability
New alternator + New battery + clean connections
I'm giving it the best shot

24 month warranty 👍
hey @michaelluscher thanks for updating this post, I did see your other one about this.. Ya it'll be interesting to see if it lasts.. But you'll probably hear it through the grapevine since that owner wasn't one you wanted to see again.. I don't blame you!

this alternator doesn't look like bad quality but how long it lasts is what's important!
