Post your latest parts purchase

****** is an understatement🤬
I thought I was getting the Refurb in Japan Hitachi branded distributor for my Villager, but no, it's just another new Chinese NS60 distributor, all for $275 🤬
I swear I'll never be able to get good parts for this Van 😔

The only possible good thing is that optical pick up sensor/ICM might be the OE Hitachi (with the Nissan part # prefix stamped on it)
I have no way of knowing, this wasn't the quality OE part that I thought I was getting, or pictured
$275 and the rotor scrapes the cap 🤬

Back it goes, I don't wanna hear Electrical items return policy BS, this isn't what I ordered and I'll charge back with my credit card if I have to 😳
Technically, that's exactly what you ordered. Nowhere does Nissan claim that "Value Advantage" parts are OE Nissan. They're nothing more than a way for dealer parts departments to compete with aftermarket. Same goes for AC Delco "Professional" or "Advantage".

The OE distributor for your van is discontinued, so you're probably out of luck unless you want to go used.

OEM oil pressure sending unit for the Reatta. The old one is shorting out internally and blowing the fuel pump/injector fuse.

A new ABS tone ring for the Escape. This time the one on the passenger side snapped 2 years ago it was the driver side. So will be replacing that on my vacation break next week. When the Advance Auto guy brought this to my work he said in 30 years of automotive it was the first time he had seen or sold just the ring usually people just get the whole axle. The last ring I got at Auto Zone. I won’t replace axles if it doesn’t need them. Still has the originals at 211,000 so I’m not replacing them till they start going bad.
Good for you Blake, when I replaced one, they never heard of it either  , and that was 10 years ago. Be careful not to brake it during installation.

Got these at Walmart before our trip to have as extras as the car still has the original lights on it. And the wipers end up breaking on the plastic from where they age out instead of wearing out lol. The wipers smell amazing. Best smelling wipers ever. They smell kind of like a cleaner we used to buy but I can’t remember what it’s called. Love the smell though.

Dorman intake manifold for an 08 F150 4.6L.
First thing I did was replace the wire clamp on the rear coolant plug with a hose clamp. Majority of the bad reviews stem from this cap popping off when driving. Since this is a tedious job gotta make sure that does not get overlooked.

Redoing the cooling system on my GX460 sometime soon to prevent the inevitable brittle plastics cracking. I've seen too many model specific posts the past 3 years of folks with horror stories.

Aisin Water Pump, thermostat.
Dayco idler pulley, supposedly this is OEM and it feels very high quality.
Dayco upper lower rad hoses.
5 quarts of Aisin WS. The OG rad has a trans cooler and I might as well do a drain/fill while i'm disconnecting hoses.
1 gallon of Aisin 50/50, I have another on the shelf already. I also did a drain/refill recently and will recapture.
Not pictured because its too large, CSF aluminum radiator. Not going to have another plastic rad in my pride and joy.

Whirlpool dryer door switch isn't shutting off the dryer when the door is opened. The light inside isn't turning on either.

Ordered a genuine Whirlpool switch and extra clips for the hinged top (in case I break/loose one). Also ordered replacement bulbs from Amazon.

I suspect the door switch is a shutoff for the drum and also serves as a light switch.

For the Legend:
  1. AC Suction Hose/Line
  2. AC Discharge Hose/Line
  3. Receiver
Total from NAPA (less 20%, including shipping) = $167.97
Total from RA (less 5%, including shipping) = $388.13

I just hope that NAPA can deliver.
According to the tracking number provided from NAPA, the parts should be here this afternoon.

I added a new Denso expansion valve to the above today ($18.18 shipped). Placed the order with RA.

I didn't order one to begin with because unlike getting to the heater core, the evaporator can be removed without needing to remove the entire dashboard out of the car; I was just going to leave it.

This is the first time since 2007 that I purchased anything from NAPA. In 2007, I had a 8 month old starter that I returned under warranty (purchased at the retail counter). A few days later when I asked if the replacement had arrived, the guy answering the phone told me that the starter was subject to prior sale - say what?

When I went to pick up the replacement, the guy that answered the phone gave the guy helping me a BS story trying to cover his tracks. After getting the replacement, I never went back.

Parts delivered. Now the fun begins if I can find the motivation.

FWIW, the packing list was from Standard Motor Products warehouse in Texas. Yes, Hecho en China.

Another Devious lick 👌
If your local AAP still has any Total oil left, it's down to $5.73 per 5w40 5qt
30 qts of oil for $36.55

The clearance Halvoline @ $14.99 per 5qt seems a touch overpriced on balance

I've gotta pull the intake manifold off the Camry soon for the rear valve cover gasket, so I thought a new PCV valve and hose would be wise

Yup made in china.. I bought the NAPA supplied a/c hoses for the civic's compressor. Still working well after two years. Just thought I'd let you know.. looks like same supplier as what I received.

Thank you. It's common knowledge (?) that Standard Motor Products HVAC parts are Four Seasons --> Made in China. I don't take issue with Made in China but in a lot of cases there's no choice but to live with it.

I've had good experiences with SMP parts (mostly with their electrical/ignition parts) but I avoid their cheaper "T" line of parts.

yes it was four seasons under the SMP company umbrella. and you're welcome about the info. You're right, the T-line is definitely one to avoid!
