Were you fixing a known problem by running Valvoline Restore and Protect or just wanted to clean for the sake of it? No judgement, just curious!

Both vehicles consume about 1 qt per oil change and I switched to Valvoline Restore and Protect to see if it improves based on other user reports. Both have run 5w30 Mobil 1 or Supertech for >100k miles. F150 is at 160k and Forester 146k. This is the 3rd run of Valvoline Restore and Protect on the F150 and the 1st on the Forester.

Hey I have the exact same year and almost identical mileage (179,500). How's she running? Mine is a little weepy but not enough to drop the oil level on the dipstick. I see some varnish inside under the oil cap opening so I'm going to run Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 even though the car doesn't have a consumption issue. I like how it runs in my V6 Accord so I'm sure it'll be smooth.

Have you switched out the rubber oil cooler line yet? Edit: only applies if it's AWD and has the tow package like mine.

Pulled this filter with 9k today - had planned on about 12k - but decided to do an HPL Engine Cleaner 30 treatment - like to use a PF63 for that.

My wife's 2014 Nissan Rogue, I did the oil change yesterday. 80,424 miles on the car, maybe 1,000 miles on the OCI. We don't drive her car a lot and the oil was getting close to 2 years old so I changed it for peace of mind.

Her car will get a sometime between 18 months to 2 year OCI now.

I also changed the oil and rotated the tires on my 2018 Nissan Rogue today. It has 72,383 miles on the car and 4,900 miles on the OCI.

I am going to do a 1 year/5,000 mile OCI on my Rogue. We both work from home so it may be close to next Christmas before it needs the oil changed again. Both cars are running very smooth and quiet with the Kirkland oil.

I also bought a funnel at Lowe's that is made to snap fit into the oil fill hole and it worked perfectly on both cars. One thing I have found in the past when putting in the Kirkland or Supertech oil that only has the handle on the top of the jug, it was hard to handle the jug with one hand and hold a funnel in place with the other hand. I was always worried I would spill the oil and make a huge mess. This funnel fit nice and tight in the oil fill hole and I was able to hold the jug with both hands and pour in the oil, not a drop spilled on the engine or anywhere else. The funnel worked great and made the job a lot easier and it only cost $4.98.

The funnel fit right in between the intake plenum and whatever it is that Nissan calls the plastic piece on top of the cylinder head:

This was also the first time I have used the blue Scott Shop Towels. Until now I always used the red cotton shop rags but could not find any good ones around here where I live. Lowe's and Auto Zone have them but they are bad quality, super thin and nearly threadbare, like red gauze. I bought some of the Scott shop towels a few weeks ago, used them on a few other jobs around the house and the oil changes this weekend and have been super impressed with how tough and absorbent they are. Much better than the red rags.

I guess both our cars are set for oil changes for a while. I am glad I got them done now when it is cool outside instead of 110 degrees and 90% humidity in the Florida heat of August or September.

Good job man! Less than 1000mi on your wife’s car in 2 years? That’s wild. The funnel is pretty cool too. I’m also a huge fan of those blue towels and buy them by the bucket. They make them in self dispensing buckets with a grab/mount handle on the side; I believe Sellars is the manufacturer of those.

Yep, when we go anywhere together we usually take my car. My wife says the seats in mine are more comfortable on her back. Plus my car has the better radio with Auto Android so we use that and Waze when we go on a longer trip or go somewhere out of town. I do try to drive her car at least once every couple of weeks to get it up to operating temperature, make sure everything is still working OK and charge the battery. She will drive her car too if she needs to run to the grocery store, post office, doctor etc. Even so, that car stays in our garage and just doesn't get a lot of miles on it now.

2022 VW Tiguan SE 4motion - 27,676 miles on the vehicle. This was my first oil change on this since acquiring it back at the end of the summer. I really can’t be sure how many miles were on this oci, as I was getting conflicting information from the dealer and the onboard service indicator. I went conservative and just changed it…
