Post your latest oil change

2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.

103,627 miles on the vehicle
20877 on the motor.
3,705 on the oil. It was down about 3/4 of a quart so with all his idling I figured just change it not top off and then change in 300 miles. Next change will be mix of 2qts of Delo and 4 Valvoline Restore and Protect, using up Delo, unless lawn tractor gets it first. Around 20k was when his original motor started burning but was much longer OCI's. I'll need to swap to the Valvoline Restore and Protect and keep it there after this.

Out - 5.5 qts of Delo 400 XSP 5W-40 and MO-339 filter.
In - 6 qts of Delo 400 XSP 5W-40 and new MO-339 filter.

2021 Hyundai Tucson - Daughter-in-laws vehicle.

33374 on vehicle, about 2600 on the oil. We were doing 3k/6 month changes but she drives more to work now so we bumped it to 4k. Since they were home for the holidays, we decided lets do it early for convenience for them. Good for the next 4k / 6 months.

Out - 4.25qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30, OEM filter.
In - 4.25qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30, OEM filter, Filtermag on filter.

My sister in law's CR-V with the 2.4l I4 and 285k miles. It had been about 9k miles since her last change with (I think) Kirkland 5w-30 and it got a fresh fill of the same along with a K&N oil filter my brother supplied. She was getting an error code related to insufficient rocker arm oil pressure (P2646) and it was low on power due to the VVT system being disabled. They had gotten this error in the past when long overdue for an oil change and an oil and filter change made it go away. Against my better judgement, I put a can of Berryman B12 in the crankcase and idled it for 5 minutes before draining. It may or may not have helped, but no more error code after changing the oil, thankfully.

The main reason the car went so long without a change is that a quicky-lube place over torqued the drain bolt and chewed up the bolt head in the process, so a 17 millimeter socket just slips off. I tried to get it out with vice grips, but that didn't work. Since they needed to drive it back to Idaho in a few days, I didn't resort to more strenuous measures and just used a vacuum pump to get the oil out. Next time he's out here I can be more prepared to be more persuasive.

Good cars. My 2007 Fusion 2.3 has 340K (miles) and runs great.
It's my next door neighbor, a late 70s widow taking care of her 98 YO mother. I look after the Fusion and take it for a decent drive every month, her health is fragile and she barely drives it. She says it's mine when she's done driving. Your car is legendary around here.

Why not try Valvoline Restore and Protect instead? It’s helped reduce oil consumption for many of us here
I probably should have. I didn’t do a ton of research before selecting Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage. At least it will be an interesting data point to see what this oil can do.

Hey I have the exact same year and almost identical mileage (179,500). How's she running? Mine is a little weepy but not enough to drop the oil level on the dipstick. I see some varnish inside under the oil cap opening so I'm going to run Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 even though the car doesn't have a consumption issue. I like how it runs in my V6 Accord so I'm sure it'll be smooth.

Have you switched out the rubber oil cooler line yet? Edit: only applies if it's AWD and has the tow package like mine.
Sounds exactly the same as mine. She runs like new, weeps a little but no puddles or topping off, a little varnish but not bad at all and doesn't burn oil. I did cange the oil cooler line to an all metal Toyota part. All I've had to do otherwise was a battery, radiator and TPMS sensor replacements. My wife drives it, she's plenty happy with it, and we trust it on the road. She just took it on a trip to SW Missouri to visit her family @ Thanksgiving, and she behaved perfectly (the car anyway). ;)

Checking the pcv hose will also be a good idea. 1 quart in 700 miles is quite a bit of consumption. Bear in mind if you see any improvement from oil it might take several changes worth to notice. Alternatively, 1 fresh quart every 700 miles is a complete sumps worth in 3500 miles, you could probably just stop changing the oil at that point and just top up with a good synthetic, swap the filter yearly.

Thanks for the insight. I will check the PCV hose when I get a chance. The previous owner was very good about maintaining it, but used a synthetic blend so it seems that my switching to synthetic (12,000 or so miles ago, Mobil 1 Extended Performance and Castrol Edge) may have increased consumption. It really burns a lot and is inconsistent, sometimes as much as 400-500 miles to the quart.
