Post your latest oil change

Found the rear PLM 200 cell race catalytic converter in the spare closet. Forgot about it lol.
If any of you guys lose anything, don't ask your wife she doesn't know, my three suggestions are to check the guest closet, behind the refrigerator or out in the shed or garage.

2017 Tacoma V6 (tuned, premium) 0W20 recommended

Out Amsoil Euro 0W-30, Amsoil Cartridge 7100 miles (longest OCI yet, no UOA but the oil looked so new, amazed even me)
In Amsoil SS 0W-40, Amsoil Cartridge

I will note my AM vapor can had the usual gassy oil (may 1/2 fluid ounce) and some white condensate for the first time. No worried.

2016 Hyundai Elantra GT with 99,500 miles
drained Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage 0w-20 and found that it was just a bit too thin for my liking. Since I live in a hot, wet climate and it's summertime, I poured in Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w-30 with a Purolator One oil filter. Engine runs much quieter now. I think I'll stick with that from now on

Did this oil change on oil faithful about 2 weeks ago forgot to post it!

2010 Toyota Corolla 1.8L - 336 896KM at time of this change.

This is the third run of VR&P. While it was only around 5100KM and 6 months. 2000 of those kilometres was through the Canadian Rockies and back. Truly is a forever car.

Out VR&P 5W-30 and a Fram XG10358

In VR&P 5W-30 and a Champ P980XL

Also gave it a new air filter since it was cheap on prime day.

Nice, anything of note with the VRP?

Wrong thread yet again. You do know this is the “post your latest oil change thread” do you not?

Purposely or accidentally- it tells us interesting stuff- like filter world is loosey goosey

Anyone remember the Bob screen door theory?
Purple? I have never seen one like that before
Champ Labs built Fram. They also build Royal Purple filters. That is funny!
I was under the impression they had supply chain issues back then, and they just opted to use whatever silicone parts they had available for similar applications. I had four Frams with wrong colored valves. One was red, three were purple.

Engine air filter and cabin air filter also changed. Both are Mann.
FCP Euro is the way to go when serving European vehicles.

2016 Chevrolet Equinox 2.4L
200,127 miles

Out: 2.5qt unknown oil (very black), Ecogard X5436 filter
In: 5qt VRP 5w-30, Super Tech ST9018 filter

A family friend came over so that I could change her oil, and I taught her two boys (11 and 9) in the process. Well, I did my best, anyway. One mostly paid attention and the other had his head in the clouds. 😅 I mean, fair enough! It was hot outside and there were a lot of distractions to compete with. I'll show them again relatively soon.

WHEW. This poor engine has seen some neglect. I drained only 2.5 quarts of thin, black oil from the sump, and it smelled strongly of fuel. The friend also said that she's previously allowed her oil level to get so low that the engine would stall. This fella is going to need some help to get back on its feet.

I'm putting her on a regimen of VRP in hopes that it helps the oil consumption and cleans up the carbon and varnish that inevitably exists in that hard-working engine. I told her to come back at 201k miles (a little less than 900 miles from now) for the next change, as I'd first like to flush whatever crud is in there before allowing VRP to go a full OCI. I also gave the boys some homework: check the dipstick every two weeks and let me know if it gets low. Chances are slim this actually happens.

Below is what it looks like inside the fill port (not a great photo, admittedly).

1994 Buick Skylark 3.1 V6
Out- unknown oil previous owner ran for at least 13,000-15,000 km's, very black and a litre low. Off- a black Prime oil filter, never seen or heard of the brand before. Looked and felt cheap, was leaking pretty badly at the seal.

In- A mix of 2.5 litres of Maxlife synthetic and 3 litres of VPR, both 5W-30 grade. On- Fram XG3980 oversized filter.

Oil pressure is noticeably higher at warm idle and the oil on the dipstick is so clear I actually had trouble reading if it was full or not. Looking forward to running this and seeing if anything gets cleaned up, but will probably swap to a Euro 0W-30 for the cold winter unless VPR is released in a 0W-30 before then. That Mobil AFE stuff just makes these old GM V6's too dang clattery for my liking.
