Post your latest oil change

2 Tigs in 2 days. Wife's (2020) and one of her coworker's (2024).

Oil out for both: Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30
Filters out: Mann HU6013Z

Both got the same again.

Momma's getting the good stuff.

Normally, I pass the time sipping on a beer or some bourbon, along with a cigar, while it all goes down. Heeding cardiologist's advice to hold off on those activities for a couple months after recent heart surgery. I should be back to partaking again by the next change(s).

My daughter bought a 2007 Sebring with 135,000 miles on it, so naturally the first thing I do is change the oil.

Out: No clue what kind of oil or how many miles, but it was 2 quarts low and verrry black.

In: 5qt VR&P 5w-20, and a Fram TG filter.

Then I cut the old filter open and found way too many glittery bits mixed into lots of black sediment. I suggested my daughter wash & wax it, vacuum the interior, and stick a For Sale sign in the window. She laughed, and unfortunately seems determined to keep it.

2021 Subaru Outback 2.5L 41.5k miles ODO. Current oil fill had 2,650 miles/ 5 months.

Out: M1 AFE 0W-30, Wix 57055 filter.

In: Amsoil XL 5W-30/ Amsoil EA15K13 filter.

Used M1 AFE 0W-30 and few other 0W-20's for several oil changes for past 3 years for 2.8-3k oil/ 6 months OCI in Midwest weather. Oils always took a beating with fuel dilution and short 5 miles round trip commutes in cold weather with very little chances of full operating temps other than weekend grocery runs on the highway. Now it will see 15 mile round trip commutes going forward. I'm hopeful bumping up to 5w-30 XL and improved operating temps due to longer commutes. I can finally try to go 6k/ 6 month intervals Subaru calls for or at least 5k mile OCI.

2018 Subaru Legacy Sport.
84 Month oil Change
6,032 miles on oil and 71,475 on car.

In/On and Out/Off:
Mobil 1 0W-20 EP with a splash of HPL Premium 0W-20 and a Wix 57055 oil filter. Used my oil extractor.

This time used between 1/3 and 1/2qt of HPL to bring up to full. Last time, it was closer to maybe 8 ounces. Drained a little less than 5qts. Car calls for 5.1qts. This is the first time that the filter didn't drain all over the tray. I did let the car sit for ~2 hours before I changed the oil.

This is my last M1 EP jug that isn't the triple action formula. Have two of those triple action jugs left. Debated using some of my VRP stash but I really want to get through the older stash first before I move on to that. So, 2 more changes of M1 EP then maybe 2 changes of Castrol Edge then VRP or... skip the Castrol and use in my Impreza when my PP stash runs out which will be a few years.

Will be putting in a Redline SI-1 when my wife fills the tank. After that tank, will pop in a bottle of B12. I do a FI cleaner every oil change and B12 once a year. Also changed the CAF.

2013 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7, 110,254 mi, 5k OCI

Out: 6 qts. Mobil Full Synthetic 5w-30, 1.25 qts. HPL EC30, PartsPlus PH820 oil filter

In: 7.25 qts. VRP 5w-30, PartsPlus PH820 oil filter

Oil looked a slight bit reddish, and honestly not as dirty as I thought it would be with the HPL doing its thing. I may cut the filter open if I have time.

Don’t feel too bad. My daughter doesn’t listen to me either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yea, I have a friend in a similar situation. She has a 14 mile round trip commute but doesn’t use her car in town. I’m going to suggest M1 for a slightly more robust oil at the next OCI.
