Post your latest oil change

Indeed! Those openings are a rare-rare bird!

Engine sounds more noisy? When?.... cold starts?
Could be a combo of that filter and the thinner viscosity VRP contains, versus-that of the Pennzoil High Mileage oil.

The last M-I that I used was noisy at cold startup. Then it quieted down afterwards on warm startups.
Plus, in regards to anytime engine noise increases, High Mileage Oils are generally always a thicker viscosity than their same, normal, oil brand sibling. Your engine could be sensitive to that thinner change to VRP.

Our Kia 2.0MPI sure brings out what oils are more noisier than others.
I was shocked to find out some expensive Grp4/5 oils seem noisier than some Group 3s. I haven't used the Group 2 conventional oils in almost 30 years. So I cannot do a engine noise comparison on them.

Normally noisy on start up, but interestingly it wasn’t as bad in person; maybe some harmonics as I’m usually in the living room and it sounds worse from the couch, lol .

Just for comparison I did a video of it on start up and one after a warm up drive; going to do the same after the first round of VRP and see if there’s an appreciable difference. If there aren’t any issues we’ll try the suggested 4 changes. We do 5k intervals on both our vehicles.
