You mean a cartridge filter? Canister is same as a spin-on.I don't really like those cannister oil filters. I replace every composite one with the metal alloy version. And I still don't like them.
Yeah, and I still don't like them. The mighty Toyota apparantly didn't either cuz they are now spin-on...You mean a cartridge filter? Canister is same as a spin-on.
Nice choice of OCI and oil. I do 5k OCI with SuperTech HMFS in all my vehicles.January 2nd
2008 Lexus GX470
Out: AMSoil 5W-30 Full Synthetic, Wix Filter
In: Kirkland 5W-30 Full Synthetic, Toyota Filter
Will reduce OCI from 10K to 5K.
I’m not so sure about that. I think 10k intervals with Amsoil would yield better results than 5k intervals with Kirkland. The engine will stay cleaner inside with Amsoil. And you spend half the amount of time underneath the car too.Smart move. You engine will benefit 5K OCI with Kirkland.
How can we actually state this as fact? 5k mile intervals on Kirkland may be totally fine and well under the limitations of what it's disperant package can handle. We don't know that Amsoil for twice as long would keep the engine cleaner unless we bench tested two of his engines under his operating conditions side by side and then tore them down.I’m not so sure about that.
