This developed a serious oil leak part way through and I was busy so had a shop look. It ended up being a faulty gasket on the Honda filter so they put on an AC Delco and topped it up with 5w20 of whatever flavour they had in bulk.

First and last time using an OEM filter, though I’m sure they’re usually fine.

Seems to work well for me but I have to admit I don’t notice any specific difference or benefit during driving. I’m actually just due for another change and have used about 2 litres. With 0w20 I was going through about twice that, which was more than I was comfortable with.

I do still get a bit of valve noise but always have, despite getting them adjusted. Not sure if any specific oil would change that. Either way, I’m past 312k km and going strong.

I changed the oil today in my 2007 Ford Fusion 2.3 at my normal 10K OCI. M1 is the only oil I have ever had in this engine.

Out: M1 5-30 HM

In: M1 5-30 HM.

Filter: MC FL 2017B Cartridge

It should if both have a hot viscosity of 20 grade. The 0W has the advantage in cold starts in really cold weather.

The car arrived from SoCal 2 weeks ago. The car was driven a total of 400 miles in the past 4 1/2 years. Unfortunately the owner since new has had health issues.

It’s clear the owner changed the oil often. There is minimal varnish. The car is immaculate.
