Didn't change the oil filter this time around. Oil wasn't changed that long ago(3,004 miles) but was very dirty I'm guessing cleaning from the Delvac? Using some diesel oil to cut some 20 weight for this motor 👍

2012 Prius C:

Out: ST FS 0w20
Off: Fram PH4967

In: NAPA FS 0w20
On: Fram PH4967

3,234 miles on oil over 7 months.
I planned to run the ST for a year but decided to OCI sooner than that.
I may or may not run the NAPA FS for a full year.
Time will tell.

10/09/2021 - 114459 mi on Nissan MR20DE engine in 2011 Sentra 2.0 S with new set of NGK spark plugs.

Out: Super Tech 5w30 HMFS SP. Off: AC Delco PF1237 filter. Only 1204 miles on oil and filter run since 06/27/2021 in temps ranging from mid-70s to 100+ on hilly, curvy streets in often heavy traffic in a city of 111k, so that's "severe service".

I have a road trip coming up next week, so wanted to get an OC out of the way.

In: Super Tech 5w30 All Mileage Synth Blend Non-Dexos SP. On: AC Delco PF1237 filter.

This OC went very well this time, unlike the previous 2. The filter came loose with just a quarter-turn of the filter pliers, then I loosened it more by hand and let it drain into the catch pan while I extracted the oil from crankcase with MityVac.

MityVac doesn't work as well as it used to, as I have to keep pumping it; if I stop, it goes for about 30 seconds and runs out of suction. I do remove the top to get out all remaining oil, so I must not be putting something back on correctly.

But at least the filter came off easier this time. I drove the car for around 15 mins, then let sit for about an hour. The previous 2 OCs, I did "cold" so, the filter was a bear to fight with.

Sorry guys and gals, no oil porn, forgot to snap the pics

Soon to be oil change before storage.

Out: M1 5W30 ESP AND Fram Ultra 6607 no wire backed media filter

In: M1 0W40 FS and Fram Ultra 6607 non wire backed filter.

ESP was rated at 11.9 Vst at 100 while 0W40 is rated at 12.6, a .6 diff when rounded no biggie. HTHS goes from 3.5(8) to 3.6. Went with this because the 40 has boron, more calcium and more zinc, LSPI isn’t a issue luckily.

The STP will go into the tank to stabilize the fuel even though I already pump 91 ethanol free.

Yes. The NA engine is very reliable and suitable for my driving needs.
When my dad was looking for an Escape I specifically made sure he got one with the 2.5L and neither of the EBs, there's not that many of them on the used market with the 2.5 versus the 1.5 or 1.6 ecoboost.

First oil change on my new Versa
Out: Factory fill

In: 4 Quarts Prime Series Full Synthetic 0w20
Oem filter

This oil change is me putting my money where my mouth is so to speak. After concluding any oil with the correct certifications will work for probably 95% or more of applications I decided to take my own advice. This is the cheapest oil I could get locally and not on sale. $18 for 6 individual quarts at Sams Club. D1G2 and API SP rated. So for $36 I get 3 oil changes.

The oil change went well. You never know how tight the filter will be on a new car but this one was fine. I didn't even jack up the car. I can reach the drain plug and filter just reaching from the front bumper with my long arms.
