Did my version of the 100k service.

Out: Mobil 1 0w-40 and Fram XG9911. Less than 4k miles but 1 year in service. COVID reduced the miles this year. Car sees a lot of short trips.

In: Castrol 0w-30 A3/B4 and Fram XG9911

Also did a drain and fill on the transmission with OEM VW fluid. Replaced the spark plugs with OEM VW ones. Rotated the tires and set the air pressure. Car still has original brakes and shocks. Shocks are getting bouncy, so those will get replaced next summer.

About 90% sure it was the factory fill. Drain plug had definitely never been removed and it had an OE MB filter. Customer had been taking it to a chain store and was billed for oil changes and tire rotations twice. I believe the tires had not been rotated either

I thought about that but find the notion that a chain tire shop is doing that is unlikely. Almost as unlikely as them sourcing a factory Mercedes filter. I didn’t say anything to the customer, it’s just my suspicion
