Post your latest oil change

It did have a good whiff of gasoline to it. No oil level drop at all nor a increase.

The belly pan is easy. Two push pins and two bolts for the access panel. I spray a bit of lithium grease onto a paper towel and clean the bolt threads while the oil is draining. Hit the hood latch as well.

Don’t tell me you took the whole belly pan off?
No but you have to do that to change the ATF at what 30K.

I don’t mind it. The weather was perfect today. I take my time mainly to double check myself.

I’m the guy who walks into the grocery store then tries to figure out why I went there in the first place. So I double check that everything is cinched up good. I would never make it in a quick lube place.
Well, I was talking to Mark and Patty (my sister) today and they told me it was a perfect day up there. I was walking into my house talking to them. Then I grabbed my reading glasses and thought, where is my phone? Did I leave it in the dang car? Patty said, "Look in your hand."

Left M1 filter for next time.

This car has been problem free. Just maintenance, a battery, plugs, tires. Should be time for a brake service.
There seems to be an alignment issue, as the StoneFire tires I put on (and aligned) have a bad RF tire. Outer edge worn.

The final "free" dealer oil change was the last one and they claim to use Valvoline 5W-30 semi-synthetic.

I drained out the dealer oil, swapped the OEM filter for another OEM filter, and found out they had failed to use any sort of crush washer on the drain plug. I had to use a breaker bar to get the drain plug out of the pan so I'm lucky they didn't strip it.
Dealer and oil change places seem to screw up my vehicles on an amazingly regular basis. I'm stunned by the poor quality of work you get from the places that are supposed to be the most qualified.

Anyway.... dealer oil out @ 5000 miles, Kirkland 5W-30 & OEM filter in. The newer Elantra is amazingly easy to change the oil on. The underbelly pan is cut out to allow easy access and the hardest part is getting the vehicle up on my ramps because it runs so low that I have to use a couple of 2x6s to prevent it from scraping.

Not surprised . In the past few years I've had a few major dealers service centers not change oil filters with the new oil . Do O.C.s myself again .

Left Fram XG7317. MityVac for the win! No makeup oil.

I pulled a plug to check for a fake. Nice thin Iridium electrode, .044 gap. maybe 50K... Yes!
I have a set of pads and rotors; I have to believe they will be needed before too long.
I service 3 of these cars. Mighty K24 baby!
