Post your latest oil change

Is that oil and filter from an old stash?
I have not seen any D+ filters at any stores since the Walmart clearance years ago, and I know I got a bunch of that 5w-20 Magnatec in qt bottles on clearance from Advance Auto a few years ago as well.
I got the distance plus at Walmart on clearance.

The magnatec I got at a local fleet farm on clearance. I have several 6 quart cases yet along with Castrol edge

This should have said 8,900 miles on the oil.

2013 Sonata 2.4L 57K

Out: 5.4 qts Mobil 1 EP 5w20 12,450 miles on this run in only 5 months. I simply lost track of the miles on this and will not happen again.. XG filter

In: 5 qts of Mobil 1 EP synthetic 5w30 and 0.9 qt of Valvoline advanced synthetic extended protection 5w30 and a prefilled oem oil filter.

Book says 4.8 qts in reality it’s 5.9 quarts after a one hour drain to bring the oil level up to the full mark on the dipstick. I stick to 6K max oci on the 2.4l’s except this past run that i’ve lost track of miles and doubled it. 🤦‍♂️ Had to mix a new quart of Valvoline synthetic ep on this change since Walmart was out of M1 5W 30 ep qts.

Next oil change will be all Valvoline advanced 5w30. 🎉

@09 GLS
Just out of curiosity, you mentioned that your Sonata requires 5.9 qt (vs the stated 4.8) to reach full after draining. Does the dipstick show full when the 5.9 qts are hot or cold?

2015 Mazda 5 at local shop. 135,000 miles. Cam2 0w-20....I didn't get chance to chat with him why the switch to Cam2. But, I can safely assume it is cheap, bulk, and good enough...

It's a Synthetic Dexos 1 Gen 2 Oil. Likely way better than you are giving it credit for. I doubt he has 0W-20 in a bulk tank. It likely came out of a bottle. Dealers where the manufacturer specs it now are the only ones I've seen with it in a bulk tank.

Hot or cold it makes very little measurable difference on the dipstick reading. To note the Sonata 2.4 has orange dipstick while the Kia 2.4 has yellow one. And they both take about an extra qt over book to bring to full mark after a extended drain. (5.9 qts sonata 5.4 qts kia.) The sonata has 4.8 qts written under hood while the Kia has 4.5 qts.

2013 Ford F-150 V6 Ecoboost with 99,942 miles. OLM at 57%, approximately 4,400 miles.

Got a free 1st oil change from the Ford dealer. Originally asked for 100K service, but, previous owner had everything replaced before I got it. Saved over $500. 😁

You are correct. I just never heard of Cam2 and will learn about it. My local shop guy is good and wouldn't offer low-quality junk to customers. He and his crew are auto enthusiasts on the side who understand the finer details of the trade and apply that to their pro work. I really could simply trust the work they do... but, I just want to know and understand things.
