Post your latest oil change

Finally someone not afraid to use 10w30. Folks nowadays think that's only for lawnmowers.
Chrysler changed the spec on this engine in ‘05, so this was the first year to have 5w20. I bought it 3 years ago when it had 155k miles and put 5w20 the first time. Very noisy, then did some research on a Jeep forum with that engine and found a lot were switching back to 10w30. What sold me was how new crate motors from Chrysler came with oil caps indicating 10w30. So to make mine official, I ditched my 5w20 cap for a new one. 😂

Thats one way to do it. Lol

2005 Chrysler Town & Country 3.8L.
194,668 miles on unit
3,681 miles and 20.4mpg on OCI

Out: Phillips 66 Shield Choice syn blend, 4qts 10w30, 1 qt 5w30, Mopar filter M090
In: Phillips 66 Shield Choice syn blend 10w30, Orange Can of Death filter PH016

Took this out sooner than I normally would due to a small leak I believe was from the pan gasket which I changed today since we had a sunny day in the 50’s here in central Indiana. We’ll soon see if it was coming from somewhere else. Pan was free from any kind of sludge or debris.

Not bad looking at all, especially with almost 200,000 miles on it.

I enjoyed our '05 Grand Caravan with the 3.8. Kinda wish I had kept it, but the $3000 in repairs it needed kinda turned me off, and had the new car bug at the time.

I rarely ever use a 5w××. I do in my 2018 Taurus for warranty purposes but when it's out it will be getting 10w30. My climate doesn't need the 5w** I will say my chrysler turbo really likes the 5w40 euro blend. No startup rattle and really quiet. Instant oil pressure. Got to be better for the turbo.

My Camaro SS just hit 1,500 miles, so just did my second of two early oil changes (the first at 500 miles and now this one, so following the OLM from this point on for the most part). Also changed the rear diff fluid as well... The magnetic plugs had quite a bit of break in material on them!

It got 10 quarts of M1 0W40 ESP, PF64 Filter and 1.2 quarts of ACDelco 10-4034 75W90 in the diff.

(and yes, I notice the bottles are almost a perfect match to her paint)

I am about to say screw the warranty requirement for a 6 month interval.
I went over this time by 3 months, but even then, it was not even 3000 miles.
I may just go to a 3750 interval since she does mostly does short trips.
The H/K 2.0 Nu GDi engine is not one of their problem ones, so I should be safe.
