Post your latest oil change

^^^^^^^^^
Adding on to my last post: This isn't my vehicle. It belongs to my 23-year-old niece (duh...Jeep Wrangler) and I'm making sure it is taken care of. No charge to her.

I'm not a fan of Chrysler, but I do have to say this is the easiest oil change out there. I don't have to use ramps and the cartridge filter is on top of the engine. Simply remove the top of the filter housing, remove and replace the long cartridge, change out the rubber ring gasket on the housing and screw back in. Drain, fill, done. 3 pumps on the accelerator to reset the OLM and you are good to go.

I last changed her oil on Apr 5th of last year. She had almost 61,000 miles, so she added about 7500 and there was 8% left on the OLM.
The Trailblazer is pretty easy although mine might be missing a skid plate that the previous owner never put back on, the car sets a good amount off the ground the drain plug is on the bottom of the pan in the open, and to get the filter off if it's loose enough just reach up and undo it by hand or if it's a little tight a cap wrench and extension makes it super easy to get off, I alway remove the filter first since the sump holds 7 quarts and I don't want to splash the filter into a pan filled with all that oil.

I'm all set for another 5k of starting and stopping!

Possible future son in law's '14 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4. This is the 2nd OC I've done (did one 5k miles ago) and just like before, the fuel smell in the oil could water your eyes. I would guess I added 3/4 of a quart of MUO in those 5k miles.

Meijer had M1 oil and filters on sale. So she got a 104 and some 5/30 HM. We'll see if it burns a little less with this heavy 30.

Out: M1 104 and Meijer 5/30 HM synthetic

A little different one today...

2007 Yamaha Rhino 660 (a smaller side-by-side). Oil sump is shared between engine & transmission.

Out:
Filter: Yamaha 5GH-13440-60
Oil: Not even 1 quart, unknown oil (likely a generic XW-40 4-stroke oil)

In:
Filter: Yamaha 5GH-13440-71
Oil: 1qt Yamalube 0W-40 Full Synthetic 4-Stroke UTV/ATV, 1.1 qts Mystik 0W-40 4-stroke Full Synthetic.

Oil & filter in use for 3 years according to the owner. Used oil looked better than I expected (lots of hours and abuse), besides how little came out. Owner said they never checked oil since it was changed last, which requires removing both seats and center console. Made sure to use synthetic incase it goes just as long without another change (and recommended they check the oil level). Oil filters above are the same, Yamaha increments part numbers for whatever reason.

I’ve been using Rotella T6 5w40 and a Fram TG7317 on a 2011 700 Rhino and a 2013 700 Viking since they were new. The Rhino has over 4,000 miles and the Viking is over 3,000 miles. I had to put a stator in the Rhino at about 3,400 miles and the internals looked really good I thought.

1997 Dodge 1500 v6 169k
Out- Sure filter and Traveller 10w40 w/6k
I didn't mean to iet it go that long but a month of rain prevented a timely change
and the oil looked looked like copier toner.ugh.Did not have to add any oil to top off during the run.

In-Auto Extra(wix) filter and Shell Rotella synthetic 15w40(picked up at Tractor Supply for $16 gallon on clearance)

planned 6/ 7k run with a filter change halfway thru.
what do ya think?

Rotella 15W40 synthetic is a very strong oil. I would run it 6k miles easy on just the one filter.

A filter change and top up mid way would encourage me to take it further, like 8k miles.

Took this out sooner than I normally would due to a small leak I believe was from the pan gasket which I changed today since we had a sunny day in the 50’s here in central Indiana. We’ll soon see if it was coming from somewhere else. Pan was free from any kind of sludge or debris.

Finally someone not afraid to use 10w30. Folks nowadays think that's only for lawnmowers.
