Post your latest oil change

‘08 Ranger 3.0L, 72200 miles, 4200 mile OCI.

Out: Castrol Magnatec 5W-20, Purolator One filter.

In: Idemitsu 0W-20, CQ filter.

I had been thinking about trying 0W-20. I like Magnatec, but this oil is even quieter, especially at startup and idle.

'01 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, 409000 miles, 21000 mile OCI

Out: RT6, Fram Ultra filter. 6 quarts added during OCI.

In: RT6 fortified with Redline Break-In Oil Additive, Fram Ultra filter.

Decided to shorten my usual 30,000 mile OCI to get fresh oil in for the winter. Decided to play junior oil formulator and see if I can effect the Iron wear rate on a UOA by supplementing the ZDDP in CK4 RT6. I added 2/3 oz of the Redline additive per quart of oil. Should bring the Phosphorous content up to ~1380 ppm.

Oil sample taken.

You got the clerance Idemitsu from AAP, I see?? Great win for you and your car, congrats. I look at my 18 quarts and 4 gallons as early black friday win.Glad to hear it is super quiet. I think the density of .85 is what makes this cake what it is, super quiet. And can you believe that it is good for extreme cold and extreme heat with a VI of 170?! you got liquid gold flowing in your car's veins and your adrenaline. I got like 9 gallons of this stuff on deck but next up is more Honda 0w-20 so I can keep breaking in this goodness. I mean very great oil being the full synthetic variety! I just prefer better base oil that 0w-20s seem to all work with and good VI that goes with it.

Nice score, did you pay for it with nickels, dimes and quarters? That's one way to get rid of change.

1994 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0 v6 close to 66k miles

old -Havoline 5w30 w/service champ filter(topped off w/a qt of Chevron 10w30)approx 3500 miles with 12 oz of MMO for the last 500 miles for some cleaning.

new-Smitty's Custom 3qts 5w30 mix w/2 qts 10w30 and a Havoline t35 filter

The short o/c interval was because the vehicle had sat a few years before I got it and I looked at it a cleaning o/c.
Took the car out for a 55 mile run with about 15 miles on the interstate ,hit 85 mph and then did the return trip.Engine was very quiet even at hi speeds.Seems like it likes this oil.

Mileage:
- Roughly at 97,500 miles.

Issue:
- I'm going to see if Valvoline with Maxlife with help my oil consumption in my car. I know my engine is known for oil consumption but I did the test twice at the dealership and passed both times. I ran Seafoam in the crank for a 100 miles right before this oil change. Hopefully the Seafoam that was cleared out and the new oil will fix this problem. I roughly burn about 1.5-2 qts of oil every change out of 4 qts at 5,000 mile OCI's.

Could this be trouble in the kingdom for the QSUD? and 0w-20. how was the thicker versions of same said oil?

I was replacing the distributor in my K1500 4.3 today. I made a bad move and looked down the hole at the cam and oil pump. It was just all kinds of nasty down there. So I figured I would do another early oil change. It only had 9-months and 1200 miles on it. 20W-50 with MMO and AT-205 came out, and 15W-40 went in. The oil pressure is good, and the engine is quiet. With the timing finally working correctly, the truck is now running better than ever. Happy day.

I tried many oils and cleaners in my 08 tC and nothing helped the consumption. Darn rings...
