Interesting mix2.5 qts of 10w30 and 2 qts of 0w16.
Agree. I think the small opening is even much less common now than the large opening. It looks like a 1qt bottle. Some of those Mobil bottles have a wide opening (similar to most 5qt bottles in diameter). Much larger than classic/old school/HPL quart sized openings.

It's too bad they stopped making those basic Rangers in 2011. I liked the basic rear wheel drive, manual transmission models. Perfect third vehicle for a home owner to do home depot and garage dump runs.I changed the oil in my son's 2008 Ford Ranger 2.3 last week. The engine now has 255K with 10K OCIs, which is about once a year. Oil consumption was about half a pint of Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w30.

My experience with owning various vehicles over the last 40 years is that I never noticed any difference whatsoever between different premium brand oils and even with budget priced oils. They all did their job during the oil change interval with no issues whatsoever.I've run Mobil 1 Extended Performance exclusively the entire 25k miles but just to try something new I tossed some Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in today just to see if I notice any difference compared to Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

You will likely notice no difference at all, but please keep us posted.
I have some experience with Pennzoil Ultra and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.Probably not but 2 oils I was curious on are Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and Valvoline Restore and Protect so decided to try one. I haven't used anything other than Mobil 1 in many years.
Not doing it at your own shop?I’m not ashamed to admit that even as I write this, I’m sitting in my wife’s car at a Valvoline
As The Critic knows,I used to own a Big O Tires store when I first joined BITOG. Since then I’ve sold the store and retired, and now I have a gravel driveway, and I’m too thick to fit under my vehicles, hence the quick lube.I’m not ashamed to admit that even as I write this, I’m sitting in my wife’s car at a Valvoline quick lube getting the second Valvoline Restore and Protect oil change.
