2016 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 with 152k miles

NAPA 5W-20 syn blend
Luberfiner PH2808

I've been using the NAPA syn blend in various grades since 15k at 6-7k intervals. Also have always used either Luberfiner PH2808 or Fram PH9688 filters.I've also been using Hot Shot's Secret stiction eliminator (8oz) since 80k. Used it for ring cleaning at first and just kept putting it in as maintenance. No oil use yet

It's idled a lot year 'round as the mom/dad hauler. They both like to get out of the house but can't go walking through the stores (or wherever we may be) when shopping so it idles some crazy hours to keep them comfortable in the car. It's been a good car.

My daughter’s ‘15 Elantra 1.8L has 220K miles and seems to do well with NAPA Blend or Full Synthetic 5w-30. Had some consumption with Supertech 5w-30 but never with NAPA oil. I’ll be continuing to use it in her car for the foreseeable future.

Only put 5k on this one and it didn’t drink much at first but it really picked up after a while. Hopefully after 3-4 more oci’s it’ll quit chugging it

Also discovered the power steering fluid weeping out of the rack ends has now developed into a large leak from the driver side. That whole half of the subframe was soaked in oil

2021 Toyota RAV4 2.5 I4. Gasoline not hybrid. 60,056 miles. Roughly 3,000 on oil as they did an oil change when it was traded in but I wanted to go ahead and do it while I took the under cover off. Did the 60K service on it which also included a transfer case service. Didn’t do tire rotation as I just put tires on it about 800 miles ago so I’ll just rotate them at 65k when I do the next oil change. I only did this service at work because of the transfer case and because it’s cold as heck outside lol. Normally I’d do everything at home.

Out: unknown I bought the car in October and it’s the oil that was in there from my dealership probably bulk Pennzoil or Toyota.
Off: Toyota YZZN1
In: 5 quarts Pennzoil Platinum 0W16
On: Toyota YZZN1

The choices for 0W-16 were limited to Pennzoil, Mobil 1 or Toyota. I wanted Castrol or Valvoline but guess I have to wait for those to be more widely available to get.

Honestly I love my car though and I want to take care of it. All I need to do now is wash it once all the salt wears off the road and once it gets a little warmer.

Good usage for your car to get your parents out. You’re a good son! And no usage at 152k…..fantastic. What you’re doing is working. Don’t change a thing.

Glad you like your Rav4. Them 2.5L engines are racking up miles and I see older and newer Rav4s in my parts all the time. I remember when you first joined BITOG. You have had your share of some headaches with vehicles over the years -- like we all have. Hopefully the Rav4 takes care of you for a longgg time.

Can you tell me where you bought the extractor r share link? Thank You friend

Call me weird but it's nice to see good-old "regular" Mobil1.

These Hengst filters are really top notch. Sturdy, no any deformation whatsoever after 5k.
Does yours have a drain plug? My 335i did not. (N55)
