Post your latest oil change

Any burning concerns that more VRP might have helped clean? How many VRP rounds did you do?

I just ran vrp once for 2k miles then went with m1 esp 0w30.

I didn’t notice any difference with VRP. My engine was really clean to begin with anyways, so VRP really wasn’t needed. I did cut open the filter, and it looked completely normal, didn’t see any extra carbon deposits. I just wanted to try VRP, and it really didn’t seem necessary for me to keep running VRP, considering m1 esp is $27, and VRP is $30. ESP is better oil in my opinion. For the short OCI’s I do due to many very very short trips to work and back and lots of in town driving I do, (my work is half a mile away), VRP is not needed. I do 2k-3k mile oil changes, and I’m happy with it. Will just run m1 esp from now on.

2013 Silverado 5.3L drained M1 0W40 early at 55% OLM - too much valve clatter at start up - put in this collection from stache and a Defense 10575 filter.

2001 Lincoln Continental 4.6L V8. 74,500 miles. Last oil change only 2,200 miles and 7 months ago.

Removed 5.5 qts Quaker State Synthetic 5w-30
Added 5.5 qts QS Ultra Synthetic 5W-30.
No filter change. Had installed a Fram Ultra Synthetic XG2 filter last oil change....a couple more to go before changing it around 10K mi.

I did so many 3-4 mile short trips this past cycle I wanted the oil out. And in the past 2 weeks I did numerous cold
restarts when changing the auto trans fluid and green coolant. Time for a new start with everything fresh once again.

2025 Honda Pilot. Second oil change. First at ~500 and second at ~4,500 miles. I have two more changes of Amsoil "in stock", then planning to switch to HPL Premium Plus.

- Out: Amsoil SS 0w-20 + Amsoil EA15K13
- In: Amsoil SS 0w-20 + Amsoil EA15K13

Used my new magnetic drain plug tool today. Other than the end with the drain plug swinging into the oil pan and not seeing the old crush washer again until I poured the oil into my transport container, I like it. Slight "where did it go?" concern until it was spotted.

Sons 2019 Santa Fe, with 69,400 miles. 4K OCI.

Out: Valvoline R&P 5W-30, OEM filter.
In: Same oil and filter.

This is the 4th oil change with the R&P.

I also did his front brakes. They were just now tickling the wear indicators. Pad slap after a runout of rotors. Bosch Blue pads.
So do you think its made much difference?
