In: M1 5w40 FS, Fram Ultra filter
17861 miles. Bought car with fresh oil at 99% oil life at 11000 miles. 6800 mile OCI.

First oil change on the Grand Sport. It has the dry sump oil system, so there were two drain plugs and 10 quarts to worry about.
All went well. No spillage.

2021 Subaru Crosstrek 2.0
Mileage on unit: 55k (53790 actual) / 5K oci (3591 actual)
Out 4.4 quarts Subaru Syn 0W-20 and 1 Subaru OEM filter
In 4.4 quarts QS Ultimate Protection Syn 0W-20 and 1 Purolator TL14615 filter

Due to his job keeping him 3+ hours away from dad's house, my son did his last oil change at the dealer at 50199 miles. They managed to cross thread three of his wheel lugs while doing their "complimentary check;" even though he told them to do nothing but change the oil. They repaired two that day. (I found the other one this morning when I did this oil change). I HATE worthless stealership service departments. They do a crappy job, charge a fortune and put you out on the road in any condition. (Rant over)

I went ahead and did his oil change a little early, to check behind the dealer. (Glad I did) and to make sure they didn't screw that up either. At any rate we'll even out the oci next time at 60K, so this bunch of QSUP will have to do 6K+ duty. Now to avoid dealer service departments and their inexperienced oil change staff.

Subarus are notorious for weak wheel studs. They're easy to cross thread. I've replaced one on my 22 wrx with ARP studs. But I've got all 20 just in case. I do my own work too.

I liked this smart change box and combo the last go-round so I went back to the well. Book says 5.5 quarts with filter - I’ve always found 5.8-6 gets you to the top of the dip stick.

I discovered about the same thing with our 2002 4 Runner 3.5L - with the big D3 filter it can take almost 6 quarts to get it to the full line. If you put all six in then it is a smidge over the full line.
