1. Out: Mobil 1 Euro 0W-40 plus 300 cc LiquiMoly MoS2 and Hengst E106H D34 oil filter.
2. In: Exactly the same as what came out.

2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport, 38283 miles. Last oil change on 13Nov2023 at @32500 miles.

1. Out: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-20 plus 300 mL LiquiMoly MoS2 and Mahle OC1177 filter.
2. In: Castrol Edge Extended Performance 5W-20 plus 300 mL LiquiMoly MoS2 and Pennzoil HPZ-37 Platinum oil filter. I had been hoarding this filter since the 2015.

I’m curious… why were you hoarding this filter?

This was a left over filter (silver can) due to a couple of minor blemishes on the exterior. I had started using the Purolator Boss PBL14615, Fram XG6607 and also Mahle OC1177 filters on my 08 Impreza OBS and this Pennzoil branded filter was forgotten until I decided to use it this time.

Separately, I have an original Subaru filter from 1991 for a 1991 Legacy L+ AWD wagon still new in a box and also a couple of leftover blue Subaru filters (for an 08 Impreza OBS; not the defective ones) purchased @2009 - 2010 timeframe. Also have some leftover filters for an Expedition EB 5.4 from the from @2005 timeframe. Need to build a showcase of filters in the garage .

Plan to change again at 10,000 miles and do 5K OCI from there on out. May switch to Quaker State also. $5 or so cheaper than the Castrol Edge. For 5K OCI, perfectly fine.

I know that Honda and Fram both say the filter should be good for two OCIs but I never do this.

I live in the country, so if I drive around the neighborhood, it’s a 4.5 mile round trip around the closest block

I literally just pulled over on the way home… oil & trans fluid was technically changed at 188002 but the round number seems cooler lol
