Huh?
You got your oil sprayed? Define what that means please.
Yeah, anti-corrosion spray down of the under carriage to slow down rusting from winter salt. There’s a shop in Burton that does NH oil spray or a guy in Almont that uses Fluid Film. Usually $200-$300 it holds up pretty good, can’t stop the rust but it does slow it down.

I was due a filter change, I normally change my oil about 7500 and change my filter at about 11-12k, sometimes I go 2 full intervals but usually not. I always went 2 intervals on cannister filters, this one is a cartridge and sits on top of the engine, easy peasy.

I let the M1 Euro 0-40 crowd influence me into trying a run of it for cleaning purposes. I wanted to do a fresh filter during that run, so I went ahead and changed it and the oil early.

Out- PUP 5-30 and a Fram ultra. Oil had less than 5k. Filter still looks great at 12k, not too dark, zero gunk.

In- M1 Euro FS 0-40 and a Motorcraft. Older Motorcraft with end caps. I'll pull the filter out in a couple of weeks and compare it visually to the Fram. See if it's "darker or gunkier", then check it every ~1k miles

I'll run this until it warms up this coming spring. Goal is ~5k, if the filter does get darker or gunky then I'll change it early. If it doesn't, I'm back to slightly less expensive PUP. The loose quart was on rollback to under 9$. Was over 10$ last time I looked.
PUP is still 23 and change, same as regular PP. With buying the loose quart, this was about 9-10 bucks more than my usual oil change. Nothing I'll fuss about (my cheeseburger meal at Sonic last night cost more than that) but nothing I'll do on a regular basis, especially if I don't see results in the filter. This was purely to satisfy my curiosity and to reinforce my belief (backed up by data) that PUP is top notch stuff.

Nice! How is the swap and what transmission? Also curious what kind of fuel mileage you're getting Nice work 🍻
Love the swap. Uses the c50 from the xA donor car. Even with a 4.31 final drive I still average 41mpg with mixed spirited driving. Car was originally a turbo 5e thru an automatic. Sent the rods out at 18psi lol

Yes, Corrosion-Free makes a well-regarded rust-proofing treatment that we spray on vehicles at my work. Same idea as Krown, Fluid Film, etc…
I've been using Corrosion Free for years now, I like how it's non toxic, dripless and odorless! I've used some oil sprays in the past that really made the car smell terrible for days after the treatment.
