Post your latest FrankenBrew

Did a frankenbrew oil change this morning. Early 90’s Cherokee with 4.0. Put on Baldwin filter he supplied with 3 quarts Harvest King 5w40 HDEO and 3 quarts Providence(rural king “new brand” oil) 0w20 synthetic oil

4 qt of Rotella Gas Truck 5w20
2.5 qt of CarQuest Synthetic High Mileage 0w20

my first oil change in the "new to me" 2008 Lexus ES350 w/ 59k miles, lets see if this brew can help clean things up, especially the VVT-i gears which seem to make a slight noise upon cold start up.

have the same 2GR-FE in the 14 Avalon which has 98k miles but zero start up or other noises.

3L x 10w60 Motul motorcycle
2L x SAE 30 Pet Can TO-4 Caterpillar
4L x Mobil 1300 10w30
1L x SAE 30 came with a new snow blower
3L x 15w40 havoline CJ-4
_______
13L total into a 2007 3500 Ram 6.7 Cummins and Fram Ultra

Got rid of all my cracker bottoms in one shot.

Well, if the different oils that make up these brews have matching + approved certs, y'all are helping kschachn stay sane.
Somebody has a sense of humor!

Humbly, my OCD won't allow a mixed brew, even in my cheap old Chevy's.

Not today, but I am prepared for it....all the BTW and pieces end up in that jug for the ultimate frankenbrew

I topped up our bulk tanks the other day, and before I tossed the containers, I drained each one into a jug. 4 20 litres of Valvoline 5W-30, that's our C3 and Dexos2, 4 of Valvoline 10W-40, A3/B4, and 4 of Repsol 15W-40 diesel. I got 2.5 litres out of those 12 containers. A good top up brew.

Is that two jugs of Valvoline DuraBlend beside your Magnatec witches cauldron ?

I thought you didn’t do the big V.

(And let me have the honour of giving you your first reaction score like)

No, they were $10 clearance sake marine 10w40 purchased for if another of the exes siblings turned up with the oil light on....

Yep, wasn't a fan based on information in the industry, but with 10w30 engine armur...why not

OK, $10 marine 10W40 for emergency use.

BTW if you are OK with Valvoline now, and have a Bunnings Hardware close by, they often stock their oils are great everyday prices. Last time I was in I saw Valvoline SynPower 5W40 and 5W30 full synthetic for $33 each (5L).

The SynPower 5W40 is SN/CF, A3/B4 & MB 229.3
The SynPower 5W30 is SN-Plus, ILSAC GF-5 & Dexos1-Gen2.

This was a few months ago.

That Valvoline EngineArmour 10W30 you are using is the new stuff, API SP & GF-6A semi-synthetic. Hard to go wrong with that. Is it smooth ? I find their DuraBlend semi-synthetic very smooth.

Currently have 5 quarts of SE rated Union 76 High Performance 20w50 and 2 quarts SG/SH rated Kendall GT1 turbo nitro 70 in a 300 Ford inline six. Also have a gallon of Traveller 15w40 and a half quart of SG/SH Kendall GT1 turbo nitro 70 in a 3400 Chevrolet V6.
