Post your latest differential oil/transfer case change

ATF going in the trans, gear oil going in the transfer case and front and rear diffs in the G35x I just acquired.

Just put almost 2qts of those into my front diff on the truck on Sunday. I've used the Amsoil pouches before but goddang they are a game changer. Took less than 20-30 secs to put both pouches in to fill.
Yes the pouches are nice!

I just changed the motor oil and the front diff oil, & transfer case fluid on our old '98 Jeep. Motor oil (Maxlife 5/30) is once a year it doesn't get driven much anymore, front diff and transfer case oils (Mopar Syn 75/140 and ATF+4) came out like new despite having about 80,000 miles on them. Still gotta do the rear diff. Going back in with Valvoline full syn 75/140 gear oil and ATF+4. No pix because I was too dang greasy, lol.

Why the 75W110? What year Tundra?

I used AMSOIL 75W90 on the front and rear differentials of my 2016 - though it's been quite a while. I don't remember anything other than 75W90 being recommended.

Because I make long - but slow runs in 4WD … I use a 140 conventional in the front … it’s easier for a front differential to “pump” oil from the ring to the pinion/bearings …
I use 75W90 synthetic in the rear because of heat, sling, and MPG (break-in was with 140) …

2019

I used it because I already had it. Since 110 occupies the upper portion of the old 90 range, it doesn’t bother me. Amsoil only recommends the 75W-90, I believe. 75W-85 is the factory fluid.

I may have messed up, but hopefully it will be ok.

Rear differential fluid change. Honda Dual Pump II fluid and crush washers.

I’m not sure if or when this was done in the past - it has been at least 150,000km. Fluid looked clean.

I posted this in automotive oil just to break the monotony but thought this would be nice to track all the new packaging and viscosities being used.

2018 Toyota Tacoma
Out 4 Qts 75w85 factory fill. 60,800 miles Came out nice and golden. And fast

In went Valvoline 75w90 synthetic GL5 from handy squeeze bags. These were indeed easy to use.

I have to wait on the front diff I need a bigger hex head. The way the old fluid looked and as little residue as was on the magnetic plug, I am not worried.

thrifty thought. Save a couple of these squeeze bags. Isn’t it odd that bags in boxes are cheaper but these cost more for gear oil?

Changed the front and rear diff fluids on my 2018 WRX

Just bought the car in September and I’m sure the previous owner never changed the fluids, so I wanted to. I went with Valvoline synthetic 75w90 for now. I plan on changing again over the summer. I will probably go with Amsoil severe gear or HPL differential life moving forward. Wanted to run the valvoline to kinda flush out the factory fill with 72k on it.
