post your latest differential fluid change

2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD-Offroad. Service records say front and rear diff along with transfer case serviced at 50,000 miles, 102,800 today. Drained rear diff and used triax 75W90, also changed transfer case oil with Redline MT-LV 75W. I'll do the front diff this weekend when I take the skid plate off to change the coolant. The fluids I drained out looked great, though.

2009 Honda Pilot. Not sure when this new to our family Pilot had its transfer case done but the fluid looked not bad coming out. The Pilot has an AWD system with an amazingly small 1/2 quart capacity. I’ve heard of the fluid getting cooked in other makes of AWD systems didn’t find that the be the case here.

The top plug was over tightened. I had to use my 1/2 inch pivoting ratchet with a 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch Cr Mo crossover and gave it a hit with a hammer to free up the 3/8 recessed pipe plug.

I was able to use my Dewalt 921 Impact wrench with the same 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch crossover to free up the bottom plug. The fluid on the transfer case is sprayed-on Liquid Wrench.

In: 1/2 quart Pennzoil 75w90 GL-5 gear oil.

Did another gear oil change at 2620mi, last one at 899mi as mentioned in my last post. Same fluid as before, HPL Differential Life 75W-140.

PPE drain and fill magnets were covered in wear metals. The spots on the shop towels were sparkly. Gear oil in the drain pan sparkled like metallic paint in the sun. I'm more than likely going to do 1 or 2 more changes before I go to a normal 25k interval.

Not a great pic, but you can see a little bit of the sparkling. I use the drain pan for oil changes as well, so take that for whatever it's worth.

Just did a PTU drain and fill on a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium 3.5L V6. I am extremely luckily in that Ford started putting drain plugs on that particular PTU in 2018 so my Edge luckily had it, earlier ones you had to suck the fluid out of the fill hole and given its location its a PITA.

I also did the rear diff, however the rear diff only has a fill plug so I had to suck out as much as I could and I was only able to get around 64% new fluid in it. However I plan to start servicing both of these units every 30k miles so it should be fine.

I went with Pennzoil 75w-140 for the PTU and Pennzoil 80w-90 for the diff.
