2023 F150 Lariat @ 30,745 miles
Transfer case (TOD with 4 Auto) - Amsoil Fuel Effiecient ATF (LV spec)
Front and Rear Diff - Amsoil 75w90 Severe Gear

Added a Spicer rear diff cover (9.75” rear) so I can do drain and fills now. Wished there was a cover for the front to service that one easier, but my vacuum pump works for that one. Factory fill on the Rear diff was about 1qt low, transfer case was about 3/4” low from the fill plug hole, front diff was perfect from the factory. All fluids were darker than I expected and I have the warm and fuzzies about getting the factory fill out early and get new fluids in. The Spicer diff cover seemed to add a little bit of capacity since I used a little over 3qts in the rear and Ford specs 2.8qts.

I’ll probably service the diffs every 60k from here. The transfer case will get serviced about every 30k along with a transmission drain and fill since I do use 4Auto frequently in the winter and I want to keep the clutches happy. PPE transmission pan should be in later this week so I can service the transmission.

2013 Dodge Charger 5.7 R/T: 74,xxx miles, drain and refill rear axle with 1.4 quarts of Mobil 1 75w140 synthetic gl5 gear oil. Mobil added friction modifier to the fluid however I have an open differential with no clutch pack in it. The old fluid did not appear dirty, only yellow. The Mobil 1 was clear.
 
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75w90 Amsoil both front and rear. 2020 Ram 2500 75w140 Valvoline in the rear, 75w90 in the front. 2004 Ford Ranger 80w90 in front and rear.
 
2022 Subaru WRX

49,633 miles on car

26,300 miles since last Rear diff and Front diff/Manual transmission fluid change.
Fluid looked really good.

Put in fluid in rear diff until it flowed back out of the fill port. And just under 3 qts into the transmission which also has the front diff in it.

2022 GMC Canyon ATF, 54k total miles, 24k miles on fluid. Old fluid just a little cloudy but clean. Not much build up on the magnetic fill plug. Took a rag to what I could on the diff, cleaned and degreased the cover, cleaned and re used the gasket, and replaced the cover bolts (used half a drop of blue loctite on the new bolts).

2020 Ford Expedition w/ 110,000 miles. Drained out Mystik 75-90 that had been in service since 36,000 miles. Oil was a dark golden color with very little metal on the magnets. If I had known it looked that good I would have left it in service.

Refilled with more Mystik 75w-90.
 
2009 Honda Pilot new to our family. The main order of the day was to break out to top and bottom plugs. Fortunately the cross member behind the diff has punched out circles to be able to get the socket to the plugs and use an impact wrench to undo them. I had a Dewalt 921 Impact wrench capable of 450 ft lbs of torque. On the end of it I had a Cr Mo 6 inch extension and a 1/2” by 3/8 inch crossover to insert the the end of the female square pipe plug. I had been giving shots of Liquid Wrench to the threaded area for a few days prior. I removed the spare wheel that was stored behind the diff beneath the floor of the SUV to have room for the impact wrench. I confirmed the plugs would not come loose with a short breaker bar and then I got the Dewalt out and gave each plug several Ugga Duggas to the left, one to the right them more to the left. They both came loose after three sets. I removed the top plug, then pulled the lower plug with a pan beneath the diff.

The fluid is Honda VTM-4 which much like Dex 6. It came flying out the side bottom drain hole. It over shot the pan and made a bit of a mess on the cardboard. I replaced the drain plug with a new crab washer.

In went around 1.9 quarts of fresh VTM-4 which is bright red in color. I used a fluid transfer gun to but the new fluid in the diff and when the fluid started coming back out of the top hole, I put the top plug back in.

I put the plug back in with a fresh crush washer. You can gets packs of them off Amazon.

I didn’t go crazy on the torque. Here are some pics. The last pic is of the diff before I gave out some Liquid Wrench. You can see the plugs had some corrosion.
