Have taken two chilly rides recently on the new Beemer. 61.0 miles total, using 1.46 gallons of Amoco Ultimate 93 octane. Filled up to reduce condensation in the tank. 41.6 mpg for the previous fill of the same fuel. I think winter blend has arrived. Down about 6% from the early tanks. Riding in barely 50°F weather is a major factor also.
Filled up the Maverick Hybrid at BP/Amoco - 87 octane w/Invigorate - Lot of rural country highways This just used tank was consumed in temps averaging 20° cooler than the previous tank. Sorry no pics, I was tired after a 10 hour day of running around. Just forgot to take them.
Both my Pontiac Vibe GTs (1.8L, 180hp 2ZZ Yamaha/Toyota VVTL-i engine) consistently get 30 MPG as long as I keep RPM below 6k. 50/50 daily commute or cross country trip, it doesn't seem to matter.
My Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 gets 23 MPG on my 50/50 commute, and 28 MPG on long highway trips.
Over the last three tanks with the HAH, a total of 1400 or so miles, I've seen 40.9 mpg, 40.9 mpg and 40.5 mpg.
IOW, with colder weather, higher RVP fuel and more than 50% highway driving, fuel economy has truly sucked.
